I saw this in the shop yesterday and just had to see what all the fuss was about. @ColinV6 would be proud of me.....just don't let him see the state of the tractor in the background.

It smells very very similar (and seems to produce very similar results) to the Meguires Quick Detailer spray that I had years ago when "polymer technology" was the best thing since sliced bread and seemed to be stuck on every bottle of wash/wax/polish.

It does have a nice smell but it’s way above megs quick detailer which is a great product but sometimes I’d maybe quick detail first then top up with the ceramic. I’ll be interested to hear how you find it!

I had some very annoying marks I couldnt get off the bonnet for a month or so. Can only assume a cat had walked through something and then walked around up there :cautious: Nothing by hand would shift them. So yesterday I finally cracked out the machine and some meguiars compound. Came up beautifully! No more marks and a lovely shine.

This’ll get the cab grass growers frowning ;) It’ll get a full grease today also!

Thanks guys, it is an older Same Explorer with a white 'crepe finish' plastic roof, whenever I look down onto that roof it makes me sad in the pants 😕🥺 hadn't considered W&F for plastics 👍👌

Nothing specific I will tend to use a drying towel on them and maybe rub the ceramic spray cloth over them after I’ve done the panels but I don’t tend to get on well with glass cleaners as such.

I even use Autoglym rapid detailer on the house windows it’s the only thing that doesn’t smear like mad when the sun hits them.

Just curious, how many of you have employees and how much time would you let them spend cleaning/polishing a tractor?
I suppose a cereal farm in winter with a salaried worker would get more time than somewhere that's busy year round.
Usually do mine on a wet day or if I’m worked up early in the afternoon, usually give the cab and windows a look over during lunch break, 40 minutes is along to time to eat a sandwich and check the abuse you’ve received on TFF 😂

I wonder if buying new some form of UV paint protection film could be applied? Mind you probably just as cheap to paint the panels after 5-10 years.

probably doesn’t help having never been inside or undercover for it’s entire life

Case red fades just as badly, but JD green seems to stand up to it better.

however, I’ve never had paint peeling off like that ( on the rear guards ) on anything else. The paint on my 8970 Genesis was a lot better

That's where I'm going wrong, always used my half hour break for a kip:sleep:

It helps if you're the only one driving it, that doesn't seem to happen round here.
Does look good though(y)

What do you cleaning buffs use to clean / polish /protect the shiny plastic mud guards and bonnets on your tractors please.
Ceramic coating is the way to go if you want a durable finish but it takes time and effort. I just use a solid wax or something like AutoGlym Aqua wax is really easy to apply.
