Much as its a good protector from white mould etc Tbh creosote gives me skin trouble these days anyway ,and theres always a splash or something like sweat in your eye that stings like....I know,. If you got the right chestnut, red larch, oak or accacia timber then it won't need treatment but to rely on tanalith to make posts last longer is a waste of time and money. Some tanalised posts may last 10 years but that's too short in the lifespan of a fence considering the cost nowadays.Fair enough but surely if the right timber in theory it shouldn’t even need treating

Got 2 packs for renewing and had cut the top of one last week, the creasote was right in to just 20mmof the centre
