Trelleborg tyres very disappointed

I've had no bother with them. Over 6k hours, 5 years on first set. Got them on replacement tractor and it's done 4800 hours and still plenty life left. Tractor does no roadwork/haulage. Just travelling to fields. Ploughs, square bales, mowers etc.

I don't mess with pressures often. Probably run too hard if anything
Our tractor does no road work plough simba sl and goes on a 24 meter dribble bar we ran the front at 20 psi and the back at 18 psi and we were advised by trelleborg to run them much lower than this we have many other tractors here and was just looking at one yesterday that has done over 6000 hours but they are Michelins and that’s we’re I expected them to be

Well this is a well timed thread…..

I’ve had trouble with the beads splitting slightly on the rear tyres of my MB Zetros lime spreader. Only done about 10,000 kms in maybe 500hrs.

Moreton Tyres put in the claim and with no bother at all Alliance have agreed to replace both tyres after initially suggesting they had been run at too low a pressure. So all good.

It seems they’re not the best for traction so I was wondering about a set of more aggressive tyres for wet or soft going. It has taken ages but only yesterday I found a tyre with almost equal circumference and 30mm narrower, which I thought would do the job…….

But they are Trelleborgs……..
Well all I can say after my own experience I would not advise anyone to buy trelleborgs more than anything I’m more disappointed that nobody has even been bothered to come and see me

Will never have another Trelleborg tyre on the farm. Set of 800’s on a combine broke down and bulges everywhere after 1000 hours. Rep came and looked and said manufacture issue, but after a lot of chasing, would do nothing about it.
I totally agree I’ve given them the chance to come to the table with something and just feel very let down there support is non existent!!!

We used to have a lot of Trelleborgs on the farm, had Neil out a few times to a few issues and he’s always been more than fair.

However I have heard he’s moved on and the new bloke is nowhere near as good.

Having said that we’re mostly bkt now, and very happy with them.

You said the rep ( did he work direct for trelleborg) weighed your tractor and have you correct pressure. Do you have this in email or black and white? If so I’d go back them and threaten to take it further as you acted on their advice .

Trelleborg 710s on rear and 650s on front of a Fendt 930 TM1000s. Jobs include a LO 85 7 furrow reversible, 4.5 Metre Sumo Trio and a set of tripple mowers. Run at 16 all round. Had a rear go last year and just had a front go last Friday with cracking behind the cleats . A previous set of TM900s had similar issues.
Apparently if the cracks are behind the cleats its a tyre issue and more than 3 cracks behind the cleats which are visible on the inner wall is a warrantee job . Cracks in front of the cleats indicate running at too low a pressure.
Not really very happy the TM 1000s are probably on 40% worn!

Trelleborgs on my 120hp tractor sidewalls developed bulges before the cracks at (all and every) cleat got big enough to the air escape

Still 40% tread left on them, but not found anybody willing to part with cash and try them with tubes 🙄

Didn't replace them with trelleborgs.......
They don’t exhibit at shows here but they need some rotten eggs throwing at them at Agritechnic.

710’s on the front of my Fendt 1050, look at the stress fractures in front of the cleats. I do not understand why Fendt use Trelleborg as original equipment unless they are German owned?

Tyre disputes are difficult. There's so many unknowns.

There's always 2 sides to every story.

At least the op has got it off his chest and chastised them on here, which I'm sure he'd been threatening them with.
Not really that difficult we run a fleet of 10 tractors and the drivers are all top operators I’ve had issues with Trelleborg tyres in the past so I wasn’t keen on having them again but unfortunately the new tractor we bought was a stock machine that was already on trelleborgs so didn’t really have a choice but to give us piece of mind we asked trelleborg to come out and weigh the tractor with implement on so we could find out we’re we shou Be running them we then set them even higher than recommended to try and avoid any problems but surprise surprise after 1400 they failed it’s not good enough and then it took them 4 and a half months to finally come to the table and say there is nothing they can do due to been run under inflated even though they actually told us they could be run lower than we did and then to be told that basically it’s Irrelevant what we were told and the advised pressures as basically there are to many other factors. most of our tractors are on Michelin tyres and we just don’t get any problems at all so I don’t see how we are doing something wrong if we had other issues then maybe or perhaps Trelleborg should have made time to come and see us and explain there side of things but as already stated it took 4 and a half months to get the disappointing answer that we got and I feel I only got that after constantly chasing them in my opinion it’s not good enough

Trelles need to be run hard, will last a long time if run hard and i dare say may outlast most for road work
I think I’d agree.

We have some on a Deutz m620 which has done only roadwork, silage wagon and muck, maybe two days ever of cultivation.

The Trelleborgs are OK but now getting less than 50% the tread bars are getting a bit wide as they wear and don’t seem to grip half as well as they used to.

Had been sitting since Friday .

Fitters coming to it in morning.

Also I’d just like to say that I’m the agricultural sector things are becoming very expensive and we now need machines to work harder than ever to get a return on things and tyres along with many things in the industry have at least doubled in price in the last ten years so what are we getting for that extra money because in this case it definitely isn’t a better product but it wouldn’t be so bad if we got good back up luckily we deal with @Terry Elsey Tyres and there back up has been fantastic in keeping us going but with no help from trelleborg
