And if they catch them the system lets the buggers off !

At least if it's got smartwater marking they won't be able to sell it through an auction .
I've been asking around and every time you mention it to someone they then come out with a story about something that they have had stolen . It's seriously rife everywhere.

If I'd have replaced the bikes they took in june they'd have probably tried to have them as well, wife asked the pcso what they do with the transit tippers with fake reg plates, that seem to be rife around here lately, apparently the cops are clever enough to work out the correct reg and once they do that they send them a letter asking them to not do it again. :banghead:
I suppose it's my own fault really, I should have known they'd be back.

A mate went out the other night, heard this noise so crept quietly to see what it was, he saw scumbags had taken the hedge cutter off the tractor, so he called 999, they were then pushing the tractor down hill towards a low loader, the police by then were on route lights and sirens going, the scumbags left the tractor got in there wagon etc and fled, police caught up with them further up the road, but nothing can be done as they hadn’t got the tractor on the low loader, wtf!!!! From the Northeast they were,

I think farmers need to start putting the frighteners on these thieves, make them have second thoughts
Yeah confronting them is virtually the only option, not very easy at 3am on your own in your pyjamas in the dark, and what are the long term consequences of escalation? Heard a tale of a bloke that got them cornered in a shed, cops arrived but they had to let them go because they were trying to set fire to the shed. cops got lost on the way here the first time so there isn't much use in calling them at the dead of night.
