Twin leg mole plough - minimal heave

Actually that's a good point. Ron at Maidwell said the hired 775E we had would pull a mounted but not a trailed.
Not sure how the steering goes as historically crawlers have trailed implements. But I know our neighbors have a mounted twin leg on a challenger and seem to get on ok

Some mounted moles have pivots built into them to allow crawlers to steer.

I haven't looked too closely at modern crawlers, but guess not many or any of them have swinging linkage like track marshell crawlers had?

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough, we already have a mounted one and it seems to work. I was just a bit worried that @Banana Bar said his 775E couldn't put a twin leg in less than ideal conditions so was curious whether his was trailed or not.

Moleing when the subsoil is too dry will increase the heave

moleing with a 3 inch bulllet gives a better mole when it is getting close to too wet at moleing depth

I have found that a worn mole bullet is a false saving leading to a poor mole which fails quicker
I now use ceramic bullets which last several times longer

We brought a Maidwell last year, worth the money it'll certainly last a life time. Go mounted over a trailed if you're limited for HP, magnum handled 2 legs fine. I'd recommend press wheels, they leave a good finish with minimal reeving (well enough for DD i dont know - depends what angle to your tramlines and how good your sprayer suspension is!)

How does the price compare to other brands/designs? Fan of the press wheels!
