Putins forces deliberately targeting civilians over night .
Are we really going to stand back and watch?
If women and children were being attacked near by and you had the strength to stop it , surely you would?
In a civilised world we would not just sit and watch.
Putin would wet his pants if a western country got involved & we know he fears NATO.

We (that is to say our leaders) have taken a calculated risk that it will be over in days, that the loss of civilian lives will thus be minimal, and that he only wants Ukraine.
If that is the least worse scenario, then it may be that we live in a civilized world. Not saying it's right.

Where has he attacked women and children?
I seen no news of direct targeting of civilians. Just civilians killed a wounded in the fighting.
Its a war.
And its why Putin knows he pretty safe as the west won't fight a war with Russia as west worry to much about civilians.

Must admit I would like to say that to a Russian warship. 😁

This could be an interesting story starting in Norway. Especially as they recently had a number of underwater fibre optic lines cut with suspicion falling on Russia..

I seen the news report on that before Christmas, Russians took the under water sensors and the cable

Maybe we got too civilised and comfy here in the west that we've decided to not help in case we lose some of those things which civilisation brings ?

Look back at recent history and see what it used to be like when someone got threatened or invaded, lines would be drawn and troops would be deployed as the first shots were fired, now the most we see is some posturing which if half arsed as the EU can't lose its gas supply, a few financial sanctions, a name taken off a football shirt and no doubt people will be changing their FB filters from a rainbow to the Ukraine flag.

I guess you can't blame people for not wanting to risk everything again in foreign lands but then again how long can we stand back and wish the other guys weren't so bad without doing something substantial ?

One thing we can bet on is that China will be watching this very closely, although they aren't particularly friendly with Russia they will be very aware that a weak response from the world here could speed up their military plans for expansion.

I was having a think about this. When it’s all over and as is likely Russia wins. What are they going to do they can’t put everyone in jail and there’s going to be a lot of angry people with guns around. I think he’s going to be looking at a poisoned chalice as they say. Keeping control is going to be hard I hope.
