Fencing around a pub

Ok, so we have a pub that backs onto one of our fields and been having issues with kids trampling the crops while there parents sit in the beer garden getting p!ss*d! There’s also a footpath on the opposite side of the field so people tend to cut access to access the pub in summary rather than sticking to the path and going’s around (probably only an extra 50-100m!).
We’ve spoken to the landlord and to be fair he’s trying his best but can’t be pulling pints and watching out back at the same time.

So, we’re thinking of fencing it but can I use barbed wire? I was thinking 4 strands with one either side of the post at the top to stop them climbing over, should keep the livestock in the beer garden. Would this be legal or would I have to use plain wire? Doubt it would have much stopping power on the animals though 🙄.
This is just some of the damage done, caught them playing rugby on there one time!

Fence the whole place off with 5000v
The parents in there getting pìssed will be moaning about the gas and 'lectric bill in a month or two, moaning how they can't afford it.

Make representations to the licecensing authority. Focus landlords mind.
Or fallow an acre in front of his pub and plough it about 18 inches deep every now and then.
Landlord is ok and I don’t want to fall out with him, he’d probably contribute towards fencing costs and he also posted on Facebook asking patrons to keep out the field but can’t have eyes everywhere all the time.
Plus usually get fee beer when in that field 😗😬

If there's no footpath where you want to put the barb wire then you can put what you like there. I shouldn't think you would be held liable should someone snag themselves on your barb wire fence that they absolutely should not be crossing. It's trespass. There is a footpath there for a reason.

I would put 3 or 4 strands of barb on your side of the fence and 1 strand of plain wire level with the top strand on the garden side Which will help to appease in case of complaints. Horse netting would do similar and also keep some of the glass out too. It depends how long your boundary is really.

Only about 30m so not a massive length.
