Fencing around a pub

Put up that tall building site fencing stuff ( Harris fencing ? ) padlock each one to each other!
Like I say, I’ve got posts and wire and don’t want to go buying if I can get away with it. As long as I’m not going to get in trouble I think barb wire will act as a big enough deterrent to dramatically reduce the trespassing. I just don’t want to get in trouble! Pub landlord has no issues with us fencing and neither dose my landlord it’s just what type of wire I use. But some of ideas about are very tempting 🤔

They will just cut the barb wire and or climb over/under it!

That Heras fencing can be bought cheap if you happen to be lucky, saw some the other day make £1 a section in an online sale!

get the pub landlord (and even better , yours as well) to contribute or fully pay for some decent post and rail fencing. It will make for a smart job and hopefully everyone would benefit

The pub landlord should be paying for/ organizing the building of a wall/fence etc to keep patrons of his pub on his own property!

He wont of course because as it stands it does not affect him if they damage/trespass on other peoples land..

But if you had 10 loads of bio solids delivered to your field and some went over the boundary line and into his beer garden i bet he would be on the phone within 2 minutes moaning like hell and telling you to remove it/ not let it happen again!

As much as it would look nice it wouldn’t do much of a job of holding back the wildlife 😂.

Landlord is ok and I don’t want to fall out with him, he’d probably contribute towards fencing costs and he also posted on Facebook asking patrons to keep out the field but can’t have eyes everywhere all the time.
Plus usually get fee beer when in that field 😗😬
the answer is do multiple passes adopt the stategy of little and often especially when thirsty or do what we did a few years ago in a similar cicumstannce spray the crop with sulphur fair makes a mess of expensive trainers

I wouldn't say it will be a problem, if it's on your side, perhaps have an excuse ready that it's a boundary for stock rather than to keep people out.

Would deer fencing be a simple, relatively cheap solution over a 30m length?
High enough to discourage access, without looking quite as bad as strands of barbed wire with litter hanging of it.

With a pint glass sized hole cut in it obviously, as suggested above.👍

If its just a short length double fence it, two plain wires on the pub side, 4 barb on yours. Plant a hedge in the middle. Fence the footpath too, 2 rows or plain wire to start with.
Maybe a sign on the pub side warning that the paddock is often sprayed with pesticide.

As much as I’d really like too fence the footpath it isn’t really an option as it runs through the middle of a 200ac block 🤦🏻‍♂️
