Good colostrum provides all the protection lambs need. Save your money and put it towards your time checking that every lamb suckles in the first four hrs.
This!

Making sure the ewes have decent colostrum, and that the lambs have suckled well makes such a difference

But what if they DON'T have enough good colostrum? Not every ewe is stacked up like a dairy cow, especially with triplets

We are lucky in that most ewes have plenty of colostrum. Always milk any surplus colostrum off singles and freeze it in100ml batches ready for anything that needs it. Sheep milking kit helps with the milking!

It looks a great way of doing it. We're a bit stretched labour wise in the thick of it so chucking them in a mothering pen and a dipped navel is often the most attention they get. Would be great if there is a product to give anything looking vulnerable.

You don't need to save many lambs through better management to pay for alittle extra labour

Yes, suppose I'm lucky my parents are still keen when it comes to lambing and my brother helps at the busiest time. Kids aren't old enough yet! Keep thinking of getting a vet student in to help but family labour is free 😀

There's me and my brother and 1300 ewes spread around. Son is doing a levels so there's extra on the weekends, daughter loves doing mothering pens but can't do it every day

Wonder if you have read the ingredients on these products? I did the other day waiting in the queue at harbro. Basically they're all glucose or some other form of sugar with some vitamins and minerals chucked in. Probably cost about £2 to make but they charge about £16 for a small bottle of their own brand and other brands.
I will stick with a bit of honey in the powdered colostrum, or just a bit of honey and a few drops of mineral drench in some warm water if they need a wee kick to perk up.
