Gathering sheep today and I had a look at this new badger sett. Last year it was just a little rabbit hole, now there must be 5-6 ton of soil dug out, perhaps more. There's another big sett 250 yds one way and another 400 yds the other. I don't know what is the recommended stocking density for badgers but I think we may be overstocked. No wonder there's not many ground nesting birds about, and it's not as if it's intensive agriculture

After evicting my machinery loving blackbird from the sprayer after her first clutch she has now taken up residence on the sprayer tractor 🙄 tucked in on the end of the starter motor the warmth of the engine with incubate the eggs for her but she still enjoys a trip around the farm sitting tight 🙈
