Because the transport wheels are at the back, you could transfer some weight by not lifting those wheels completely off the ground.
It certainly looks like a far more integrated drill than the Caddy type system, which suffered badly from side slippage when on the side of a hill.

When I bought my mounted 3 metre second hand a couple of years ago, there was a guy South of Oxford with a 4 metre Caddy version for sale. He just could not cope with the side slippage on his banks. This is exactly what put me off buying it and why I went for the mounted 3 metre version, even though it cost more.
Yeah the newer version looks like its got more weight transfer options?
Just worried it might be like pulling a dead horse up a hill ! Maybe a tweek on lift arms an back wheels will be OK

There has an antipodean member who posted about a pressure control modification they had done on the newer version trailed GD, which maintained some weight on the transport wheels in work. I haven't got round to it yet, but I think the caddy definitely needs something like that. Keeping some weight on the transport wheels helps a lot, but it is very difficult to do with only position control.

Thanks for that , just pondering a upgrade but don't want to shoot myself in the foot by not being able to pull it 🤷‍♂️
Have you considered a front tank? It makes a much more balanced setup, but takes a bit more work to fit and take off. You also dump a lot of ballast off the tractor, making for lower compaction, but the weight is on the tractor for grip.

Yes i , valve system on back end allowing rear axle to float up an down from sounds ..they'll no doubt be days where they need to be up in air or rolling the ground depending on conditions 🤔

No I need 6m to get plenty done also quick an easy to drop on and off , just wondered if anyone on here had gone from one to the other 👍

i pull a gd caddy and weight transfer when the hopper is full and the drill down helps when drilling deep with beans up hill
but this squabs the tyres and deepens the coulters
we do have to be carefull not to drill too shallow when the hopper has less than a tonne in it

i have filled the caddy wheels with water and added weight to the caddy to get enough coulter weight on a 54 row 9 m drill

a 6 m drill has enough weight

the newer mid mounted coulters would be a much easier drill to controll

if you need to you could add some weight to the tractor for traction
imho a 6m drill could be pulled on the flat with a 200hp tractor i currently pull 9 m with a t7260 that uses 50% power on the flat and up to 80% on hills with a full tank

i have learnt that if traction is a problem it is usually not dry enough resulting in reduced yield
patience is the key as with all farming

Agree with what you've said there , if I upgrade to the newer version an its a problem pulling it I'll just bang some water in tyres 👍, must be some machine 9m 👌

I'm sorry but I haven't read all of the 55 pages to find out but has anyone used a 4m gd tool bar off the back of a caddy mounted on a tractor 3 point linkage and a front tank as a drill set up? I don't like the look of the length of the trailed drill as I think it will crab badly on some of our steep side sloped?

Yes I run a 4.8m with a front tank and someone else runs a 4m and I think I’ve seen a photo of a 6m. Really pleased with our set up.
Do you put any weight on the toolbar? We have a 4m mounted which is good but have got the weight of the tank and seed which if hard we try and keep at least 500 kg in the tank
