Tried on cropping but got no response, is there an app or easy way to work out fertiliser required from soil tests. Grazing mostly and bit of barley for my own feeding

An agronomist could easily do the calculations for you. If you use a farm chemicals supplier they will be able to help.

Agronomist can’t be bothered with small fry, gave up on them, you need to be spending thousand’s for them to be bothered

Unless you are intensive grazing , spinning some clover seed on the grass would probably have the best long term effect but do it late summer

Clover is my plan, lucky bought 27.4.4 in the autumn so have fert in shed for this year. Next year if it stays up, stock will be reduced. Sheep may go as there hard on ground over winter and big sheep boys have all the good keep taken

RB209 has everything in it you need.

As @Midnight plough boy says RB209 is the place to look. Index 3’s suggest there is no need for additional P and K.

Funnily I'd consider keeping more sheep and less cattle.
Almost all of our livestock costs and labour are on cattle, the main benefit they bring is dung for the arable land

If all soils are index 3 for P&K, no need to add any more (for this yr at least)

S.Barley - 100 units N applied 2x 50 units.
Grazing, 25-30 units N

Depends on ground.

I do 150 units. 100, then 50. Will need some stiffener mind.

Had soil tests done and only going to put straight N on this year (PP). Can get 27% CAN for £865 per tonne or Ammonium Nitrate (33% N) for £935. On my calculation the Ammonium Nitrate works out less per unit of N, are there any other factors to consider?

Also one field has a PH of 5.7, is it worth putting prilled lime on to get an immediate short term lift this year?
