I’ve heard of that myth. I meant surly the 4 rotten lbs is what killed her.
I'm sure she would but then I'd have only had to pay for a ewe, rather than a ewe PLUS half a bag of lambsWhy wouldn’t she have died anyway?
Sorry read it wrong. Thought you said they would only have to pay for the bag of lambs.I'm sure she would but then I'd have only had to pay for a ewe, rather than a ewe PLUS half a bag of lambs
I’ve got 3 out with twin set ons now. All had horrible stinking lambs of their own. Big jab of Betamax LA straight away and jobs a 50:50 chance.Legend has it, some ewes do survive...
Jesus, lambing really is getting too you…I had to reread that several times

Yep, saw this last year too.... Horrible disease. When mine were slipping there were lots of lambs that probably could have been alive but they were coming out in the bag and so suffocating if I wasn't there at the right time. Not saying the lambs would have been good but they may have had a chance.
Using a camera on her, will surely take away her Soul, so you know who to blame....!Yeah outside now, probably die of some other reason now though.

It is also telling if it is enzo or toxo.... very similiar. The placental nodules on an enzo case are very obvious, on e you have seen it. I saw FAR too many last year.I wouldn't think so, the toxo attacks the placenta and severely reduces the blood supply to the fetus, so the lambs are dead before they come out. The thing is that they are so well developed, they look like they should have been able to survive. if you were there to help.
I've found the telling thing is how clean they are. A lamb normally gets a bit scuffed and dirty trying to get up for the first time. Toxo lambs are completely unmarked because they come out dead.
Not sure but I think its the dying placenta loosing its grip that prompts the actual abortion?
Pretty tight knacker man. Before ours started on the bin job he’d let you throw 2 corn bags of lambs in with a dead ewe and not charge extra! If you’d hung her up from a loader, could you not have stuffed them back in?
Gas prices all gone up.... bound to see knacker prices rocketing...Pretty tight knacker man. Before ours started on the bin job he’d let you throw 2 corn bags of lambs in with a dead ewe and not charge extra!
Strangely enough I sent a cow the other week and the invoice was £10 less than the last one. I asked why, thinking it was a mistake. He told me that the price of the tallow/oils going out from the renderers has shot up so it’s costing him less too tip now. So he’s passing the saving along. At least something has come down in price!Gas prices all gone up.... bound to see knacer prices rocketing...
If you look at the lambs eyes you can tell if they were alive at birth usually. If they are clear and normal then I reckon the lamb was alive, if they have any cloudiness or dullness then that usually means they died in the womb. Old vet told me that, I actually am happier when the eyes are cloudy and dull so you know you couldn't have saved it anyway.I wouldn't think so, the toxo attacks the placenta and severely reduces the blood supply to the fetus, so the lambs are dead before they come out. Just had one like that. Big mule ewe, 1 alive 1 dead. Both big lambs came out when I was having a brew. Dead ones eyes as clouded as buggery. I could have lambed it myself and it still would be dead.If you look at the lambs eyes you can tell if they were alive at birth usually.
