Kverneland reversible set up

First day out with the reversible in 2 years and I can’t remember the length of r/h drop arm, which I have hydraulic.

I put it where I thought I had it, had the screw on turnover ram stops where I always had them but no way can I get the plough to match up.
Loads great up the field boards to the right, back down looks good aswell, then next run up the field boards to the right, it comes up very short the my previous run.
I have tried my drop arm at a few different lengths and can’t get it right, any easier way to try get it ploughing back level? Thanks

No one answered yet ?

I would Simply Drive onto some flat smooth concrete then measure up to both sides lower link pins to check for same measurement either side to start with .

edit ..come to think of it an 8ft x 4 sheet of smooth plywood/resin board under the back wheels would give an equal /accurate base as a starting point to measure up from (with the plough lifted up on the linkage of course)n

Should have said it’s a 2 furrow match plough. To have it right I had to have it a little longer last time I was out. But can’t remember the measurement .

yes bignor have the hydro for ins and outs .

Doesn't make any odds ,if its a reversible your starting point needs to be both the same measurements either side .

If do as above , if the y are not both the same measurements adjust the hyd drop arm to get them the same then you might find that that is where you had it .

cOmmercial ploughing but My current problem is a badly leaking seal in one sides assitor ram , has been for awhile must sort it , it doesn't matter too much on most implements ( other than losing oil) but it does throw the plough out .....

Could be a different depth either side, tractor tyre pressures or mouldboard stay. Perhaps you adjusted something for your last finish and didn’t put it back?

I’d go back to basics, slacken mouldboard stays, measure and mark some fixed distances along the boards and get the plough as level and square as possible front to back and left to right by measuring to fixed points on the beam and legs. I did this on my brand new match plough and it was amazing how far off it was.

Go ploughing with the lift arms the same length, get the plough going level both ways on the top link, get the front furrow width roughly right, check the depth both ways and only then adjust the lift arm as a last resort if you haven’t got independent turnover stops on the headstock. Don’t try and adjust it to get the ploughing to match, adjust it to get the plough square to the ground in both directions.
Hopefully you’ll get it doing the same job/error either side which you can then dial out but in my opinion if you can’t get it doing the same thing on both sides without constantly playing with the lift arm length you’ll be on the back foot at every ploughing match.

There is a decent guide somewhere from Kverneland which tells you how to measure the bodies etc and get it square. A bit harder on a 2 furrow but still helpful.

Thanks for replies lads,

had it out this eve for a short while and done the setting and checking as you said @Bignor Farmer . It’s a lot better than what it was . But I’m still having a problem with the boards to the right, my back furrow looks heavy.

It’s not near as bad as it was last evening out but still can notice it. Small few things to change in the morning so will see how I go from there.

Pitch has a big influence on depth .

one body on one side with a steeper (ie deeper) pitch will pull all that side down to its own depth.

To check ,fit new points/shares and measure (accurately ) from the tip of the individual point/share up to the beam each time, even the likes of up to half an inch out can make a big difference, do make sure that they are all four the same measurement.

What size boards is on a kverneland match plough or do they vary?

I’m on 25 bodies on mine .
Thanks for
The replies lads , meant to get back to this sooner.
I changed my shares for new ones as there was a big difference from the beam. Gradually got it better and it went very well my last match Sunday, I still want to add 2 rams to my Depth wheel to save changing each time

Measurements a little of for my last 19 so ended up with a few uneven sods but hopefully fix that the next time out.
I pulled the back board a little to much on the finish so it left it loose and fell back in. All learning….
