The interested party(New Neighbour) has made about £80 million profit selling Covid PPE to the NHS !!!!As far as I am aware your FBT is still ok , it is just that the new owner will be notifying you where to pay rent to.
Long term, you may be out at the end of the term highly likely depends who is new owner, could be your neighbour who will serve notice on you at the earliest opportunity, highly likely to come to an end or be paying more coin!
These Diocessan boards have been selling blocks for the past two or three years, they are I think taking the view agricultural land has risen and may stagnate coupled with loss of BPS from a rental perspective and are cashing in and investing elsewhere.
They want to play with horses on it !!! Already spent £10million buying next door farm !!Well it is highly likely they could be your new landlord , and the rest depends on what they want to do with the property after your FBT, or they could want it to be farmed as now subject to rent etc.
The only guarantee is the length of your remaining FBT.
Church Commission is the Church's investment company it's run by Commissioners who are not Christians and pretty ruthless. You also need to remember that the Church of England has Dicoses which are all separate organisations. We are being discriminated against in the rural parishes and it will happen in your diocese to. The church commisioners will not help Lincoln which was one of the richest diocese in the country but now run at a 3 million deficit each year

Get a loan.. buy it from them at half market price then re sell it to another landlord who will sign a contract with you to farm whilst paying near to full price for the land? Best financial deal you will ever achieve!! If they will sell it to you?Anyone had land fbt sold from under them by SADBF

thats helpful !!!sorry just saw you are fbt.. not aha.. looks worrying
Historically each Church was financed via its Glebe land, the vicar took the rental income from the gelbe land as his salary (stipend in eccelsiastical terms). The rental from a few acres was sufficient for a vicar to have a high standard of living, influence was used to gain the living of parishes with a good income. As land rental values dropped the systemt had to change and the result was that the Church commissioners took hold of all the land in exchange for providing assisatnce to pay clergy stipends. They have long since stopped contributing towards clergy wages, but I believe they may still make a contribution towards pensions.Slightly of at a tangent!! But the Church commisioners have a 9billion bank account yet in Lincolnshire they are rediploying there clergy to only work in the larger town churches even though in a local survey many rural churches opted to stay as working church building's. We are being discriminated against in the rural parishes and it will happen in your diocese to.
