Answer me this then

Is it possible to convert a SPFH in to a zero grazer?

Remember, the key is to cause the least damage to the cut grass so knives out for a start but what about drum? Will the impeller be able to accelerate grass of, say 10” , up and through spout without blocking?

I know a lot on here will say it won’t work but I talked to a guy from Michigan who had been zero grazing with his self propelled for 10 years. I think he was putting the grass in a tmr but not sure

Used to get bloated cows occasionally, when housing estate neighbours would put grass clippings over the hedge for them.

Rick , be interested how you get on, we bought hesston Machine and took the knives out to harvest parsley with out damaging the leaf. Sadly it did not work.
think your biggest issue will be blocking round the drum intake as it will not like long material.
We did consider a bypass to the blower so it would suck the crop in and blow it, but we never got that far

If you want the grass cut but untouched, would something like a rape swather with a conveyor work?

That‘s where I too think it falls down

Purpose built ZG are too fragile/slow/ and it looks as though front mower and forage wagon may be better option but limited by mower size whereas SPFH wholecrop disc mower can be 5m plus
