From what little I have read on BBC news app,it seems that it is very hard to find out who really owns London properties and for that matter other property that have supposedly been bought with money originating from Oligarchs.
Seems unbelievable to me that this is possible but it obviously is,if you have very switched on accountants, solicitors/ lawyers.
What do other members think.

Problem is they are all owned and purchased though multiple shell companies that are based in tax havens around the world, making it impossible to find who is the actual owner. But I think the UK could put more pressure on some of the major ones based in UK controlled protectorates like Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Belize etc. However, I guess too much dirty washing would be exposed for the people in power. 🙁

It’s been organised for the individuals concerned by British accountants and lawyers. In a time of war surely it is right these people put that information into the public domain.

It would be very weong to unilaterally sieze property from anyone, that is the actions of a kleptocracy.
however to order that all foreign owned property is formally identified with in 5 years or before any sale, otherwise it will be seized and held until an owner comes forward. If they are found to have broken UK law by actions against our state then let it be forfeit.
also it should be forfeit if they purchased the property from un unidentified person after the first date
