Was going to do 25kg/acre...Have done on a field we had a high K, 5 iirc, index in.
Made it more palatable yes. Was a low rate an acre? 50kg/ac?

Yes. A local contractor dose it, brings 10 tns in a spreader and does 150-200 acres after first cut. He buys bulk salt by the artic load for sugar beet land.Anyone put agricultural salt on their grazing ground, to improve palatability? Thoughts?
Why is grass unpalatable? Was going to do 25kg/acre...

Does it make a difference ? Not a clue to be honest, but when ever we do detailed soil analysis it comes back as low sodium.
I never even noticed it was there I had to go out and look at one to convince myselfwhat did you think the little plastic hook moulded inside the handle was for? Decoration?
Needs rain to wash it in - comes up through the roots.Looked back last few years production is broadly similar.
Mind if I turn out and milk goes up, I've done me winter wrong .
Never done the salt thing, how long does it hang around?
First bit of rain and it's gone type job?
Do you consider that as a high rate ?That works out at 50kg
125kg/ha is 50kg /ac?Do you consider that as a high rate ?
The recomendation I was working to was-
"125kg/ha in spring and again in autumn
for a late bite"

Any thoughts on this little calf?!
Lovely looking heifer calf but missing the roof of her mouth and front legs appear to have a twist in them.
Fear I know the answer but has anyone had one go on ok without the roof of its mouth?
Thanks
Report it to the semen company, that’s a genetic defect.View attachment 1030001

I have used Yara nutriboost mid season which contains 5% salt and I think they graze the residues down better when we use it.Anyone put agricultural salt on their grazing ground, to improve palatability? Thoughts?
