CTL testing

Heard on the grape vine that some mills will be testing grain for CTL residue. Will imports be tested for it too?
what would be the situation if there was some Uk crop stored that was a few years old that had CTL used on it, would that be ok?

Could @crazy_bull or anyone else in the trade shed any light on this?

Really whats the point of CTL testing?

The product has now gone and what's left won't last long anyway.

If there's CTL left on farm it must need a hell of a shake to mix it up.
It was a good, cheap, effective fungicide. But an absolute arse if left sitting still for long.
I can remember having some that just wouldn't remix from the bottom of the can. Washing great blobs of it out with a high pressure washer

Well, if they can take one sample per however many tons of foreign grain, but are going to test random UK grain samples for a banned chemical, it shows just how much they love us, and red tractor.

It was mentioned last year that they would be testing malting barley. Not heard anything else.
They'll soon get bored when all the tests are negative, nobody has got any that I know of.

Sounds like a load of rubbish.

I bet they would have to test tens of thousands of tons to find a trace, and it's perfectly legal to hold grain over for a few years.

Just another stick to hit us with while they buy all and sundry in from abroad.

It's pretty easy to say there was some 2020 corn at the back of the shed if anything was said. I doubt the trade would give themselves a use by date, it might affect profits after all.

There is a lot of testing for most chemicals as part of the ongoing monitoring of Maximum Residue levels. I do not see this as being any different to any other chemical, save for the MRL is 0.
