cant make my mind up wether to spray or not , its been cold and dry here ,rape more or less in full flower no petals on leaves, reckon we might do more damage with the sprayer than benefit , agronomist wants to as a precautionary measure , whats everybody doing ps agronomist wants to go twice

Bit of a no brainier with the price of rape and benefits from a flowering spray of Aviator. Crack on 👍

Aviator going on mine next week following a Teb at early stem extension and some Difenconazole in the autumn hasn’t broke the bank so far for something worth £700/t off the combine!!

And to echo comments above I’d rather knock down 6ft tall OSR now rather than at dessication or pod stick timing

My Campus is also 6ft tall and the Acacia is less than 4 ft from similar inputs, the Campus has less N applied after the GAI measurements earlier in the spring

It’s nice to have these considerations this year rather than the last 3 years Sh** storm Rape crops though!!

aint it nice looking at rape this year? hope the price holds . im not counting my chickens on crop or price!
looking at ours im not counting chickens more peacocks ,joshing aside atm full crop setting pods now in full flower looks tremendous even though I say it myself. Dont think ive ever seen us with such a good crop at this stage. I know it has potential but dont know which is worse hoping a crop does better than it looks or thinking this could still go t--s up weather disease pests etc

What stage are you guys spraying it at. Here we are at 30% bloom. I like to leave a small strip each year and even in a dry year I can see where it was missed. Once you’ve got a good crop to that stage I’m not going to balk at paying out the last bit.

What about including an insecticide ? I am trying to move away from any spring applied but my agronomist insists the risk is too great to miss it out considering the high crop value.
