Argentine Farmers protest

All of which is why rich people need to be taxed.

Britain has always been obsessed about taxing successful people, that's why they don't stick around and create opportunity for everyone to share.
You live in an culture of petty regulation and control that inhibits basic freedoms, a sad prospect for the human spirit.

We're definitely pointed in that direction down here. Our gov't even shut down our remaining refinery, banned new exploration, as well as the draconian BS that these puppets see as "the way forward"

it's really all about impoverishment of the broader population and getting income streams going into fewer and fewer hands, and it's perhaps naive of us to think "they can't see this coming"?

Maybe it's what they want?

Last time I saw a move that genuinely helped "us", I was still a schoolboy
so Trudeau want to reduce Canada's production, as does Jacinda Arden with New Zealand, Russia is going to have sanctions against it and is stopping fertliser export anyway, while Ukraine is at war and here in the UK, our governments want us to plant trees. Sounds to me like a mass starvation is on the horizon!

Who are they going to blame? Why ‘the farmers’ of course. :blackeye::depressed: The politicians and supermarkets are certainly not going to shoulder the blame or responsibility. We have a Prime Minister that won’t even take responsibility for attending drinks parties which he him-very-self banned for the whole population at the time.
We are led by donkeys and not very able donkeys at that.

Bit like burning wood in Drax, am I right in thinking, we don't count deforestation against the UK, when they are cut down for Drax, only take the credit for producing electricity without fossil fuels.
Pretty much the same as growing maize to make into ethanol. Extra N to bump up yields because returns are good. More road fuel to truck more production. Build a factory to make the ethanol and power it all because it sound good that it’s a renewable energy but it all produced from fossil fuels in a round about way.

The fact is that individuals and businesses in the UK make money from society at large. If they want continued access then they should pay their way, simple as that.

How else do you expect public services and government expenditure to be financed? Selling yet more of your debt to the Chinese?

It obsesses about making it look like it taxes successful people and taxes those trying to be successful so as to not compete with the established.
Likewise with the "petty regulation and control". It is often just a means for the established wealthy businesses to hinder competition.

Or at least at subsistence levels. Most of us are actually capable of growing gardens.... those who don't might get a bit peckish

Are your talking from a Canadian or Uk farmers point of view. I always thought that the Canadian and Us farmers were well supported and understood by their governments.( Asking out of genuine interest, not trying to make a point). Agriculture in North America must be one Of the biggest industry’s .
Both countries are at fault for this. Britain started during the thatcher era. Ever since public established industries have been sold to foreign investor groups or closed. Canada is going that route too.when hydro electric was the new way to power the country the government at the time relied on US money to build the dams and generating stations. Now they get power at a fraction of what canadians pay, same with oil, lumber and a host of natural resources. Petrol in the states is 2/3s the cost compared to here plus they truck it from Canada terminals. Fertilizer made here can be bought over the border for less as are chemicals. Not sure who is shafting us but it makes me sore. US farms appear to be better looked after. farming On the whole looks more prosperous once you’ve crossed the border. If Trudeau messes with farming here much more it will be devastating for the small towns and the family farm. Too many small business rely on the farm industry to get by and we are heavily tax for everything from fuel to inheritance so they governments advisors need to realize who is keeping the country afloat

do the rural communities and the people who rely on them not have more power when voting than in the Uk

So you propose to live in a country with no roads, no infrastructure, no power distribution, no health service, no police or fire services and absolutely no defence spending?

I see.
Energy / power distribution...........health service all are commercially funded.
Police and fire are local / state funded............roads are state
So tell me what do we need the Gov for............?

So you don't want any kind of government? I see. I quite like the idea of America descending into the Wild West once again. Will you also make it legal for British people to shoot Frenchmen once again?

Supposed to but does any voting body have any influence in government. Once the politicians are elected the voters are forgotten until election time again. Too busy having meeting weekends away with the secretary and avoiding scandal to give a damn about the working man.

That has been talked about but I’ve young kids and I’m at an age that I really don’t want to start building up a farm again. I’ve done that here for the past twenty years and have things a lot easier now. Yes I’d like to have a longer growing season and warmer winters that come with going south but I’ve made one big move in my life and until I retire or kids take over I think I’m here to stay.

I have a feeling that is the WEF/UN plan. And that then opens the door for big corporations to supply 'manufactured' foods, adverts of which I am seeing already unfortunately...
Trudeau doesn't run Canada, it's the global puppet masters who do. He just does as he's told and takes the money. He doesn't have the IQ to run a lemonade stand.

Don't think my part of the west ever went away, still cowboy country bigtime.
Same values, shake of the hand is the same token of good faith as ever. Bliss.

Understand, when you moved from UK did you look at the states or move direct to Canada.
