I can see both sides of the argument. There's no dialogue, no proposals no compromise, only confrontation and alienation.Nobody is saying its our right destroying nests! Your as bad as them!

100 % , really might they not just be feeding there, good job you're not involved in making the regulations that the farmer involved was following. Where do you think the confrontation came from? Not the farmer, he's going about his lawful business.Because I know if there are several pairs of skylarks singing over a field, they would 100% be nesting in that field.
100%. They are marking or defending their territory. It's what songbirds do.100 % , really might they not just be feeding there, good job you're not involved in making the regulations that the farmer involved was following. Best money I've spent is ring fencing (stock wire & 2 barbed strands ) + planting up any gaps on rd sides on all my 4 blocks of ground , where as before it was open house to walk through a gap onto the stubble, then where ever they wanted to walk , now it's completely stopped , it's also made it possible to graze the sheep on the stubble too , which is extremely usefulHalf these bell ends come onto your land and have more rights than you do….if you went into their garden they’d have the police on you before you could blink
That’s literally what farming is. Manipulating the landscape for human benefit and in the pursuit of economic gain.I agree it's bonkers but at the same time so is knowingly destroying skylark nests. But that's the industrial scale farming we now practice.
I don't know what the solution is. Every possible solution will have cost implications that don't affect the consumer; which means there are no solutions.
What I don't think is a very good look is farmers saying it's our right to destroy wildlife in pursuit of economic gain.
I was using messrs Tesco as an example only, and NO I am not stupid. Are you stupid, if you can't get food from Tesco's just go to Asda.
Sorry I was trying to be funnyI was using messrs Tesco as an example only, and NO I am not stupid.
Well I got itSorry I was trying to be funny
You're point was spot on, I was only making fun of how most people view a food shortage, just get it from somewhere else etc...
WTF do you expect farmers to do? Let whole crops go to waste every time they see a bird flying overhead?I can see both sides of the argument. There's no dialogue, no proposals no compromise, only confrontation and alienation.
well, farmers "destroy" wildlife and wildlife habitat to produce food for people to eat, would they rather we rewilded the whole world, and let 95% of the human race starve? Maybe they would as long as the 5% were the people they knew personally! I think we should farm in a way that looks after wildlife, but you can't grow food without killing things that would be there otherwise. Unfortunately that is a tough lesson that our society has chosen to forget.I agree it's bonkers but at the same time so is knowingly destroying skylark nests. That's exactly what I have been trying to say, only you have put it much better than me.well, farmers "destroy" wildlife and wildlife habitat to produce food for people to eat, would they rather we rewilded the whole world, and let 95% of the human race starve? Get real and get a life you absolute vile Troll.
The police found no evidence of nesting birds though, so the protesters were given a dispersal notice.Seems a shame to destroy nesting birds , maize could of waited for a week or two.
He expects farmers to stop work, which is the harvest of food, because some idiot sees a bird flying above. There is no two sides to that. It is patently ridiculous. As was the event that spawned this topic. There is no two sides. One lot are absolute unmitigated spoilt brats with nothing better to do and no truck whatsoever should be given to them. How can you possibly quote someone saying "I can see both sides of the argument." and call them an absolute vile troll.
You are having a laugh, right?
