I'd keep today's prices; drop bps; and have the govt subsidise my fert merrily.
Has anybody got the real price of production of a ton of nitrate at a given price of gas. All the talk of how much it costs to produce .

As with everything, they sell it for as much as the market will stand... why wouldnt they?... its no use selling a bit cheaper and halving the profit as you then need to sell twice as much to be in the same place.
I agree with you. However ,it would be useful to know what the cost of production price is if gas stays at the current level.

So current gas price is about 4x what it was this time last year having dropped back quite a bit since the invasion started.
Problem is the lag , the stuff now might have been made with high price gas m so will it filter down in months to come

yes and with shortages forecast rightly or wrongly would you be going to cut prices? Only farmers would undercut each other on the race to the bottom

If you look from Dec to now its sat in that 150-170 range apart from the crazy spikes
And considering they stopped N production back in Sept oct when it was 120 a therm
Good job we’ve got all them animals to eat then.

well it looks like someone has eaten all the swallows cos weve yet to see their return and loads left here last year .

Back on track im thinking any fert purchases here will be made ( at least 2/3rds against back to back forward sales of grain, much against my usual policy
