Are you saying the Utilty version with only two seats is not a commercial vehicle in terms of vat and tax relief?
It appears to be fully glazed. If it were a blind van it would be a commercial but it doesn’t indicate that it is. The rear side doors and side windows behind the B pillar would need to be sealed and blanked off to qualify for some arcane reason.

There used to be a TV Rental / repair co (D-E-R / GRANADA) ) which painted out the rear windows in estate cars for their "engineers" to avoid paying certain taxes of the day - Then when the vehicles were of a "Certain Age" they were re-classified as a private car and disposed of into the 2nd hand market ....

I would be more worried they gave never allowed any car journalists a chance for a proper test drive over a period of time.

It should certainly be a better vehicle than the old Defender which is practically ‘Stone Age’. I’m surprised it didn’t feature in The Flintstones with Barney Rubble paddling his feet like heck through the open floor.
I really like the grenadier but would like to know the price for the 5 seat utility, it seems to be made from well proven components so should be good if the rest is well built . I love the new Defender but as a car not a work truck .

They have an importer for Kenya and I’m quite keen to see one. We changed from a Defender 130 to an Amarok it was a revelation. The Amarok does everything a Landrover does but better but it’s just not the same I miss the stupid doors the lack of legroom the heat and dust coming through the gaps in the bodywork I hope they are making them as badly.

Assuming that the current price includes VAT [it certainly should for a consumer car] then it is fairly safe to assume that you knock off the VAT to get near the utility price. Add a Grand for good measure if you like. It should be near enough, although I would not be surprised if the current economic situation doesn’t force them to add 25% to all prices by the end of Summer.
