Good baler, used one years ago. Hard to turn down at that kind of money.

I’ve a Fusion 3 with camless pickup.
If you don't mind me asking what should I look out for on the welger when I go and see it. Ah yea don't think the mf6270 will handle one of them on are hill grounds

Mechanically they are fairly sound things, the usual you would expect, new chain solves a lot.
Pickup wear, meat still in cogs, side auger wear/wobble. Control box still working.

Chamber and rollers likely be getting thin, budget for new bearings, these balers are 20 years old now so just be aware they have worked. In saying that they are well made, in their day they were as good as you could buy.

Not sure what our contractor will be charging this year.was about £2.50 for bailing last year.not sure on wrapping as I do it my self.

Does anyone use a belt baler for silage? An do they ever put the pressure up to pack more grass in?just thought less bales, less wrap used?

going to have to be around £8.50 for 4 layers, contractor supplies the wrap and diesel
£2.30 for 4 layers plastic
£0.50 for the net
£0.40(?) for the diesel

£3.50 to make a chopped bale
£1.70 to apply the wrap

£8.40 total

So I'd be able to undercut your contractor by 10p a bale......

...... Think the traveling distance might bugger up the deal though? 🤔😄

Will stick with my chap as its me but if anything breaks down I will give you plenty of time to get here :ROFLMAO: may not need the wrapper though as it will be hay by the time you do

The this year the cost is dependent on how soon the wrapping materials have been bought, mine is costing me £3.50/bale for 6 layer, £3 for 4layers, and the net is nearly 50p/bale, diesel is about 40% dearer, so in my opinion the cost of baling and wrapping with 6 layers plastic has got to be close to £10/bale.

Thanks wellytrack. Il go and have a look at it next week if no gd il stick to the claas. There must be something wrong with it to be that cheap

Your just nit picking what iv said. All I was trying to say is sometimes a small baling job can turn into a big job. And look after the small customer aswells
I understand that you made a mistake in your typing.

But someone who can't come to help is a vastly different person to the one who won't come to help someone out.
I'd say that if someone made that mistake when talking about you or I, that neither of us would consider clarifying that to be nitpicking.

Our contractor has upped his rates massively this year not happy. We have been quoted £2.25 for a 4ft round
And £2.75 to wrap with 6 layers think he’s taking advantage of the small increase in fuel to jump prices🙉
The plastic wrap is going to cost £3 per bale alone this year so he’s doing it for free for you 😂 have you seen the price of the the stuff
A
Obviously not

The last I changed was at 32000 bales and lost £6000 from new price to trade in, and cost £9000 to change. (20 or 30p depending on how you wish to count it)
In that time it had about £3000 (10p) on parts
Farmers supply the fuel
This year's net is working out about 60 odd pence.
Tractor depreciation is difficult to allocate exactly until it's changed, last time round it cost 30 grand to move up 4000 hours (30p/bale @ 25 bales/hr)
You can double that 30k to change your next tractor 😂
