Anyone fitted one to a JCB telehandler? Are they any good? Like the idea of having a camera input too for a reversing camera. Shame JCB don't offer a rear camera intergrated into the screen of the new models.

I've the quicke "q companion" weigher on my tractor/loader, and a neighbour has the RDS system on his JCB 320 pivot steer

Both systems are accurate provided you lift EXACTLY the same way as the calibration: Oil temperature, engine speed, surface perfectly level, stationary, and boom suspension off. Crowd angle must also be the same, but that's the only check that these systems do, the rest is up to the operator

Q companion repeatability I've found to be around (+/-) 2% when lifting over 50% of capacity, but a bigger variation if you're only lifting a few hundred kilos. I can't comment upon the RDS system repeatability, but both systems use similar pressure and position sensor information, so I'd expect results should be similar

Whether the RDS system accuracy reflects the much larger price tag compared to the quicke version that I have, I can't comment. Picking up haylage bales, they both give the same result, again with the caveat that EVERYTHING is identical to the calibration run, and it was calibrated accurately to begin with!

Long story short, both my neighbour and myself use the on board weighers as guides, but cross a weighbridge if absolute accuracy is required

Maybe @Steve C will want to say otherwise?

Weighing on tractor loaders requires just two hydraulic load sensors on an RDS A10 system and price will have increase slightly when installed to a telehandler as four are needed.

The accuracy and user friendliness will rely on a system that has all of these sensors installed, set by a specialist engineer and operator using as instructed.

I can’t comment on the Quickie system accuracy or the full functionality but does look like a very basic display/ head unit compared to the RDS A10.
