Cfmoto possibly could turn out to be brilliant,all I meant was that it takes a while to be established well enough for people to take a risk with 6,7,8 grand on a new make. You wait until there's some reliable feedback from people you trust. Someone we know had a Yamaha stolen and bought a Korean quad with the payout, can't remember the make now,and the engine case weeps oil like it's porous. Dealer not interested
Only thing I find often with these cheaper makes the second hand value is crap so if you regularly change although the first Honda/yam/Suzuki will be dear the annual cost is no more than these cheaper ones. Depends on work load I suppose.

I don’t follow your logic. My Susuki 2nd hand is probably worth 4.5/5k and will cost 9.5 to replace.
New Segway 5k, if it looses half of its value 2.5/3k
I swap my 700 every two years and it normally costs slightly under 3k, when I asked the local cfmoto guy ( friend of mine just bought one) what was an average price to swap a similar sized bike at the same age he said 3k.
9.5k to replace? Don’t you mean a new one is that price?

I don't think it matters what make you have, if you're changing when it's still fresh, and like for like, they all cost about that £3k mark to change
Yep think it mainly comes down to who is the best dealer who would lend you a bike if yours goes tits up

Currently out in Kos (Greece) and there is only CFMotos here, from new to what look like 10 year olds. The new ones look nice but not sure they’d handle a farm environment, they certainly can handle dust and salt - new cars look 30 year old here and people havnt used their car windscreen wipers in months, they probably wear them out so quick with the sand.

I got a cfmoto 520 last july to replace a honda 420. Its twice the bike the honda was and half the money. Will be replaceing the other honda in october so think i will try the cfmoto 625 this time. Well made bikes and ive gave it a thrashing over the last 10 months.

Yamaha knew they messed up using cheaper plastic and the new ones have gone back to the plastic steps they had before

They had to do something, it want just the odd step on the odd bike which was failing - it was every single one!
It will have cost Yamaha an awful lot in replacement steps

That’s exactly what the dealer said !
Tbh they told me they had sorted them a year ago, next one they fitted lasted 3 weeks. At least they have them in stock now as during covid it was a 6 month wait. We had to make our own steps from stock board…..all on a 9k bike. Our last bike also had electrical gremlins so that for 6 months it wouldn’t operate in high range, engine just stuttered. So did a full lambing in low box which didn’t help the running costs on an already thirsty bike

Covid was bad, mechanic told me Yamaha had new bikes they were holding so they could rob for parts because they couldn't get anything new to dealers!
Had a look on ATV services website last night as they sell all the main makes and put prices up etc... they've dropped Yamaha
the company was founded on selling Yamaha's 30+ years ago

I still think there is a bit of that going on now, things are better but not 100% yet ( wife waited months for a Volvo windscreen)No wonder you want to try something else
