Intermittent fasting, exercise and maybe the keto diet could be something you could look at? Do your own research and see if it's something that might give you an answer rather than the promise of a lifetime of drugs to "control" it. There's a lot of stories of people reversing their diabetes using the above. I'm not a doctor but the possibility of being able to be in control of your own future health would make me at least look into it.

Just say goodbye to all the food and drink you used to enjoy. That about sums it up. Sugar, concentrated calories and beer are to be avoided.
For healthy eating all food should be as close to it's natural state as possible.

6 TIPS TO CURE DIABETES FASTER. 99%

=>1. Limit meal times to 1 hour or less, with at least 12 hours between the end of dinner and beginning of breakfast.

You should have no more than three of these “feeding times” per day. The reason limiting the number and duration of your meal times is so important has to do with staying out of the vicious cycle of increasing insulin resistance.

=>2. Exercise:

I exercise over 12 hours a week, but that’s more than you really need to prevent diabetes. Even just walking 30 minutes a day can have a huge impact on preventing diabetes. The key is to make it a daily activity.

Recommend: Do exercise 30 minutes on the evening, 30 minutes afternoon.

=>3. Diet Meal plan – Must:

Theeee No1 measure isss diabetic meal plan or food portion and timing when u have the food… Have a small portion of food at one time, you can split up the food into many sections.

=>4. Manage stress.

Stress is a feeling of facing threats that are beyond your power to control. Stress, sometimes called the “fight-or-flight” response, prepares your body for running away or fighting a threat. To do this, stress releases hormones such as cortisol that make your body insulin resistant and raise your blood pressure to pump more blood.

=>5. Drink more water:

Water is a need for our body to send out glucose and unwanted substances. Drink more water for the smooth functioning of kidney.

You should drink one time every 2 hours

=>6. Meditation, yoga or taichi:

Yes, this is a secret, traditional way to cure diabetes and other diseases.

That is practiced in yoga or meditation or tai chi.

What is the secret behind yoga, tai chi or meditation? That is energy.

Energy exists in any material including man. In it, blood is a special form of human energy.

For example, when you get angry you can punch hard against the wall without hurting. However, I think you would not dare to do it in a normal state.

Do you know: two hands can gravitate together? Yes, that is the manifestation of the energy gained after practice.

Energy-increasing will help your body healthy, help the body adjust itself to balance and eliminate disorder.

I have practiced a lot in yoga, meditation and tai chi. I can not tell which one is the best, but I like tai chi. I have tried to add yoga and meditation exercises to my tai chi system.

This is what you want to look at. Bread, spuds, rice and some fruit need knocking out. Meat, eggs, cheese, butter should be at the heart of everyones diet.

In the meantime your current situation is completely normal at diagnosis.

It takes a long time for the fasting levels to start coming down. For now if you just focus on what you eat as per for example the "Low carb programe" on here, try and leave as long as you can between meals, and don't snack in between, plus a bit of walking and you should find everything starts to come good quite soon also nutonen helped me a lot.

I think we eat far too much sugar (as well as complex carbs, which soon get digested into sugar), I am on the five two, and have read that the important thing is the measurement round the middle (at the navel) should be less than 37 1/2", not the waist measurement. I think the other great no no is fruit juice, fruit is fine, but not juice. I think partly the rot set in when we were all told don't eat fat (as it causes heart attacks) as we can only eat fat or carbs or protein, and of course no fat means ~ processed, so maximum profits for the large multinational companies (where as pork chop, and veggies gives them no profits), where as lower carbs eats into their profits.

Totally agree.

It is not fats that clog people's arteries. This is a myth.

Agreed. I've got one thing to thank Veganuary for, it made me really look into food and nutrition. Thankfully it turns out what we've been told for decades by "experts" is actually wrong. Too much sugar and starchy carbs are responsible for just about metabolic disease there is (and some others). Industrial vegetable oils are now the Devil's work and even salt is starting to come back out into the daylight. The Australian medical board has quietly altered their website to say "salt is no longer a nutrient of concern". They don't even advise an upper limit any more. So the supertanker is slowly starting to turn.

Just taking a look at this thread because I was diagnosed as being pre-diabetic earlier this year. Having got through the worst of the Covid crisis, GP’s, or more accurately GP Nurses, have again started men over 50 (I am nearly 62) annual MOT’s and a blood test revealed I have a HbA1c score of 44. Pre-diabetic scores range from 41 to 47.
Xyla Heath care on behalf of NHS do really good courses to help get the level below 41.

Yes, we know about Starches and Sugars, being Carbohydrates, exercise, weight problems and that the pancreas doesn’t work quite so well as we get older.

But what really struck and immediately rang alarm bells with me personally, was how importantly Stress levels are in the body’s ability to control Glucose levels.

Further research has enabled me to spot many other symptoms associated with this exact Stress problem: Tiredness, withdrawal from wanting to socialise with friends, lack of motivation and irritability.

I suffered a very stressful 2021 and this has undoubtedly effected me long term. HbA1c tests relate to what has happened to your body over the last 3 months and can only be done every 3 months.

Christ knows what my HbA1c test would have been during 2021?
I knew nothing about any of this until my MOT in February this year.

It appears that just a few simple alterations in diet and exercise can easily bring levels down below 41.
Very gladly, I see how important they now believe managing Stress can affect it too and that the course also includes sessions on mindfulness to help combat the problem.

In the 70’s and 80’s, the fashion was to reduce Fat in our diets. Yet we have seen a 3 fold increase in Obesity!
Unfortunately, many replaced fat with Carbs and processed ready meals and carbonated high sugar fizzy drinks. That is the problem.

Portion sizes are also important as well as the proportion on a plate of Carbs : Protein : Veg/salad.
Farmers tend to have big hands, which helps and the Carbs section on a plate should be a palm of your hand size and about a quarter of the plate. As with the Protein, but the Veg/salad size being half a plate. (You could increase the Protein in favour of the Veg/salad a bit, but keep the Carbs down!)

For those of you with Type 2 diabetes, I send my sympathies and hopes that you can at least reduce or reverse your levels. Don’t forget the Stress bit!
Take care all.
