Cannot get a price for deadweight lambs next week as the slaughter company's are expecting lamb prices to drop sharply on Monday morning in livestock markets!

Prices are already £10/20 head less than 12 months ago + add on £30 head in increased input prices per lamb on 12 months ago so at least £40 head less in real terms on 12 months ago so its quite clear what is very likely going to happen within 12/18/24 months from now if they carry on trying to force farm gate prices downwards!
Is that springers or hogs? Or both 🤔

If you reaD the news this mornin, it would appear that the west think Putin will try and starve the world into submission over Ukraine. Many countries in the Middle East and Asia must be very worried about how they are going to feed their population in the next few months.
Cant see grain prices easing for a long time. And even if they do sort the Ukraine situation out the mess the country and its infrastructure is in will take years to get back to where they were.

Drover told me today his grain buyer had called his dad this week and wil pay £340 ton for Barley ex combine as long as they can supply it by the 10th of July!

Basically they are literally going to run out of grain unless its a very early harvest, well they only have themselves to blame for the shortage as they have been driving UK grain prices well below what they should have been the last few years!
1Oth of July is rather optimistic even for your area !
