I can't think any if the dealers round here have sent us any tractors that have been registered on demo unless they were used or ex hire fleet

Really? All demo tractors round here come registered, and we have to insure them while they’re here.
Yeah the farm would insure it whilst we were using it but yeah they generally won't register them until sold as some could hang around for a long time before being sold

Cant really be insured on the road if the machine isn’t registered for the road. Dealership employees would only be covered while using trade plates.

I think that trade plates are only to be used for a narrow range of trade ‘emergencies’. Not as a substitute for registration.

A machine can be insured for on road use with the chassis / serial number if type approved and not registered. Have done it with industrial forklifts with no number plates.

Never seen a tractor since the near dawn of time that didn’t have a rev counter. The speed chart on some models may have been in bands on the rev counter [35, 65 and all 100 series] or on a chart stuck on the side window, such as 500 series.

Ours had the Duncan cab. Traded it 4 years ago against the manitou. Probably should have stuck it in the back of the shed. We’d owned it since new in 1990.
Were hoping to buy another tractor this summer.
Aiming to keep our 390t as well. It will be a useful pension and if anything happens to me the Mrs can sell it and raise a respectable amount of money to pay off any bills and bring borrowings down quickly
If I trade it in I’ll end up spending the money on something!
