I think you must be looking in the wrong place?
spot price is on the floor, but contract prices is still high. the gas pipes from uk into europe arent big enough, so we are getting a backlog in our ports apparently. why cant they turn the bloody fert factories on then!

I'm buying nowt , high prices = demand destruction , and it's happening
Maybe within the ag sectors where prices aren't climbing to match the cost of the grain, but beef, lamb and pork will rise as production shrinks (in the uk) but most grain can/will be exported to customers who are paying the prices. Farmers are not setting these prices, the stock markets/global demand is, and the same will happen to the meat sectors, just as milk prices have been rising over the last 6 months, so will other sectors pruces rise as soon as the retailers see shortages emerging.

Tight closing stocks, drought in usa, australia and france, a war in ukraine and countries not buying from russia, would strongly suggest otherwise. Wishing away the fundamental facts doesnt change them, and although there is no shortage right now, it is on the horizon and it is that which is driving prices.
