Fat hogg and lamb trade was almost Identical to 2 weeks ago at Cirenecester yesterday. All good Hogg's around £120-£135 just there was a fair few runs of poor bred and poor fed (mine where poor bed but well fed) hoggs that will bring the average down. Talking to one of the main buyers before the start I commented on how lean some of the spring lambs where and he said some are dyeing very badly because they haven't been creep fed. Culls where still a good trade but maybe a little down but again some real bad ewes in there.

You see folks with a sticker in their car appear for walks and you can always know what type of people will get out. A couple of know it all’s in their 50’s with faces on like shyte thinking they have some sort of authority who look as if they don’t like each other
My dad says you should always carry a brick with you so you can smash it through the window of every car with a national trust sticker.

470 cull cows in Thainstone yesterday . Spoke to one of the hauliers last night and he was starting to question his investment in new lorries and floats as he was thinking there would be very little stock to haul in 12 months time.
I often wonder if them ijiots in government understand how much agriculture contributes , i dont thjnk they do you know !! Take livestock haulage alone ! Staff , fuel tax tyres road tax income tax , then their is lorry manufacturers the list is endless ! Ive said if they want to imporve the economy without qe help make the farmers make more money and they will bring everything up with them and it will tame inflation !!

We had a haulier in earlier in the week said he knew of 3 one man band livestock hauliers give it up. He said there thinking about it (just had his RT inspection).

Although it has eased a bit he was saying a couple of weeks ago his nephew couldn't find diesel to fill their artic, eventually found some - £1200 to fill.

He said he was giving the abbatoir fieldsman some grief about part loads. Got to keep the wagons full at that money.

The limm heifers with a blue calf at foot averaged £1884 per outfit, heifers calved at 2yo, calves month to five weeks old. Bought as bullers last June. I am not telling you what I paid for the bullers but they have more than doubled themselves in eleven months.
I still have several to sell so averages don' t mean a lot at this stage.
It just annoys me that someone comes on this forum and says that the trade was as flat as a pancake and he doesn't know what an earth he is talking about. Enough said.
I’m pleased you had a nice trade which you are happy with but I will point out that 10 year ago they were much the same price (slightly unfair as I never seen the cattle but I believe they were good) ......in fact in May 02 we had 15 away off farm at £1850 but circumstances were different that year 🙁

Guth seems to be like marmite on here , he has an opinion it doesn’t make him an imbecile if he was that wrong all the time he would be an MP by now🙈🙈🙈

Long and short personally I feel undervalued by society for the job I’m doing and expendable to our governments (yes we have two up here) .......we will see people in this country hungry but you can F right off if them in power think it should be farmers that suffer most ........after all we are the solution not the cause of the problems

Finally got the hangers on that have had bad feet and poor doers away in to Thirsk yesterday, well fleshed 46kg made 123.50 and not so well fleshed but I wasn’t keeping them any longer 42kg 111.50 which means they all did about 265ppk whether they were fit or not. I didn’t stay to sell them and didn’t check their teeth but I’d imagine they were all up by now, didn’t stay long enough to get them off the dock as the hoggs were at a standstill in the sorting race for fecking ages and I had work to do. For a newish Mart it really is a fecking hell hole for getting sheep through the system at any pace
