Same here, I think I bought on the Tuesday and it kicked off on the Wednesday.
The rep rang and said I don't know what to tell you but war is looking likely and I've been told fert us going up tomorrow, for once I got it right and he told me sound advise.

Edit £668 actually and that was for march delivery which didn't happen because of Russian involvement in the shipping of the urea.🙄
Proof cost of production has nothing to do with it, if you didn't buy and waited 48 hours what extra costs did it incur?

Everyone knows fertiliser is short, so many are keen to get something secured. Supply and demand.

Plenty of buying groups have been taking committed orders for weeks ready for the day the price opens so they can pounce on the lowest price straight away. It’s the same as having a queue a mile long outside the shop before it opens….if what you have is in demand there is no need to drop the price and you may as well double it.

It’s only one step away (if that) from the merchants being franchise operators.

There just isn’t the competition in the market.

One reason I will only buy urea. As a global commodity at least it has a global price that is not quite so easily manipulated.
Is it short?... who has a crop that they couldn't fertilise to the level they wanted?... next March is too far away to predict anything yet.

Cf terms being withdrawn at 2. Expectation that CF will not have anymore product available during 2022.
Have we been living on last years production and AN in 2022/3 going to be genuinely short?

Bought another load today of 38N+19S urea at £709/t with the added bonus of 0% deferred payment to Dec. Thought it seemed reasonable at £644/t equivalent AN for the nitrogen alone but more focused on the sulphur. Should give us some good flexibility with a load of each and just over 50% of our fert for next year sorted.

That means there'll be more scope for imported and if CF think they're loosing out to much to imports I'm sure they'll find somemore from somewhere.

I think ‘finding’ gas is easier said than done, without pipes flowing, there’ll be desperate shortages of LNG ships to bring it in from elsewhere and when the winter comes, the priory will be heating houses, many of which experience much colder winters than here.
Apparently the UK has plenty of lng, but not much storage and not enough gas lines to ship it to europe...

If as of today, 20/5/22, CF have sold all the fertiliser that they will make in the UK for the rest of 2023 then I will donate the value of one ton of harvest 2023 wheat to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

This thread is depressing,
why, o why do people continue to play CFs game, I wouldn’t pee on that bunch if they were on fire, haven’t bought a single bag of so called blue bag in at least 30 years, no ammonium nitrate for 10, just urea and as.
They made me dump them coz of there games
We go on about RIP OFF BRITAIN they should be near the top of the list atm
Coated UREA here we go for 2023.
