SFI Pilot payments

885 signed up for the SFI pilot apparently.
Of that number how many are reading this thread and how many have actually received any payment?
I have had lots of demands on my time for surveys and requests to take part zoom calls at inconvenient times plus reading the blizzard of bumf all written in civil service speak to ‘prepare’ for said calls.
I was worried that there was no equality in dispute resolution and freely admit that I only signed up for the minimum to take advantage of the £5K bribe.
No sign of any payment.
Bad payers don’t get a second chance here.

Started 1st Nov, 2 payments made so far. They seemed to have gone very quiet over the last two months, keep reading about farmer engagement and learning from the pilot but don't see this in practice

Agree. Engagement appears to be lacking but judging by the one webinar I watched, they don't have much idea. You can ask a Q but it has to be typed in and then they can choose which ones to answer. But to be fair they tried to answer most. Seems to me it lacks drive and ambition. The huge rise in commodities probably hampering uptake. The bottom line is still vitally important for most farmers who need to make a living from their farm.

@delilah is swanning it in Rio on the payments .... ha ha ha

We had a phone call couple of weeks ago saying no more money would be released until we caught up on the surveys, asked them to send through the ones we had missed. Nada.

edit: As ours started in Nov we are piloting standards that have subsequently been scrapped never to see the light of day again. I offered to have it amended so that we could trial some ideas that may be of use going forward but no, we have to stick with the scrapped ones. I don't think 'farce' covers it.

Your data will be useful for the enquiry into whether they scrapped the right standards.👍

That will be Sue Gray’s penance if she’s too critical…

Agreement started here in November. Received second payment a day or two ago. But I can't get the stupid DEFRA sharepoint website to work, on multiple devices, so I can't interact or agree to sign up to their workshops or anything.

Hi - sorry if we've gone quiet on you - we had some feedback that we were sending too many emails and it was all too much so we've tried to consolidate our communications into a smaller number of emails and meetings instead. We are very much committed to and interested in engaging and learning with pilot participants, that's the whole point of the pilot - we're just trying to find the right balance so it's workable for you / not too much hassle. Can I ask, what sort of engagement would you prefer us to put in place? Happy to take feedback and act on it :)

I'm sorry to see this - I'll ask the team what the problem might be here - if you can dm me your details we can give you a ring to work out what's happening and how we can fix it?

Hi Janet we still have not seen anyway that the smaller livestock farmers can effectively participate in ELMS schemes to offset the SFP they will be losing, these smaller farmers have very limited scope to make up the drastic financial shortfall & they often work alone & in isolated places.
We hear a great deal of the depression & sometimes suicide suffered by farmers especially isolated farmers & I fear you by not producing an acreage safety net could be personally taking on the responsibility for many farmers lives, this is not something I would wish on my greatest enemy & I think you need to express with your masters the implications & responsibility of what you & they are taking on!
