Twins

On the subject of twins... assuming you get two dairy heifer calves, any thoughts on how they perform when they make it into the milking herd?
Any worse than a single?

Had a pair tonight from Sassafras, not picked up at PD so no Kextone yet...

Is it still worth using a Kexxtone once they’ve calved? 3 sets of undiagnosed twins in the last month here, and one single that was meant to be twins!
I bought a packet and haven't bothered personally, I do wonder if theyre a salesman thing. Even big bertha didn't get one and she was fat and had twins. Probably return mine and keep the money in the bank account instead

I do, yes they take a while to get going but may give a boost in the end.

Got one now who kicked out twins, very holsteiny, pushed them out alone.

Given pre-emptive Glycerol Plus, Fresh Cow and Rimadyl, but she's still struggling. "One of those", I'm afraid.

50 days, just feel fallopian tube from a bump, which is egg implanted , does take experience, but we're a block calver so, just looking for MT cows after bulls pulled out which I do at 60 days.
Some people can play the piano, some people can juggle 4 balls simultaneously but you sir are truly gifted.

Is it 50 days from the end of service for everything or 50 days after every service as you go along?

Pd from 60 days after bulls out, collars have removed the need to do anything other than to check for MTs now, don't think there a need to pd to much for us, as we don't do any fertility treatment, surely you're feeling if there's a missed cycle and cow now showing 100% heat( know at 6 weeks not going to do damage)

You'll be fine then. A lot of those cows you're feeling will be no brainers - either very pregnant or very not pregnant! You probably won't have a huge number of those 50d pregs to feel anyway and you can take a calculated guess from what you're feeling and from the rest of the results as well

Totally on 50day pregs, and as I do them myself can recheck easily if am not 100% sure.
