Fine currently. Have you heard of inflation? And recession ?No. I disagree in this situation it would be easy for me to add cost. Whether it’s a new tractor, or employing somebody to do what we currently do ourselves or more marginal litres or acrs etc etc etc. that cost is fine currently but would be painful on a falling market.
Iv viewed this thread but no comments
Have you heard of adapting ?Fine currently. Have you heard of inflation? And recession ?
Come on how exactly are you inflation proof. Do you own an oil well or your staff never get a rise.Have you heard of adapting ?
inflation might well look after itself? ideally output inflation equal or higher than cost inflation and interest ratesCome on how exactly are you inflation proof. Do you own an oil well or your staff never get a rise.

could you not sell your milk as non organic, but retain your og status ? Quite sure a clever dick lawyer could find away around notice periods.Iv viewed this thread but no comments
several have, in the past. I think the major processors are ok, but some of the smaller ones, tied into contracts, with retailers, who won't help, could well go bang.I know we need the money but it does make me worried companies are going to go bang and then ultimately us farmers will suffer
We are pretty much inflation proof this yr. feed and fert bought last yr. running with less staff so pay rises are covered by that and we have adapted work practices so we are actually working less overall.Come on how exactly are you inflation proof. So in summary your in the same boat as everyone else next year.We are pretty much inflation proof this yr. feed and fert bought last yr. running with less staff so pay rises are covered by that and we have adapted work practices so we are actually working less overall.
as for next yr some inflation is baked in so assumption that milk prices will drop back to where they were 2yrs ago is incorrect assuming our milk is still required. Mean time our term debt had 21 months left on it meaning interest rates are fairly meaning less to our cash flow and this yrs surplus could quite easily sit where it is and Remove our need for seasonal debt.
so in summary I’m enjoying the ride
Heard nothing, or had a thanks but no thanks response?Nope, neither us nor neighbours who applied.
Well probably not as it sounds as if he's likely to be nearly debt free and have cash in the bank.So in summary your in the same boat as everyone else next year.
Didn’t say I wasn’t all I said was Don’t add extra costsSo in summary your in the same boat as everyone else next year.
You can’t generalise that much though can you? Throughout your career you make investments, good and bad, in the belief you are growing your business/becoming more efficient. Sometimes you have to stick your finger in the air and go for it and sometimes circumstances dictate your spending for you. All I do know is my biggest regrets are from not having a go.Didn’t say I wasn’t all I said was Don’t add extra costs

Nothing at all, said to me people would start hearing in May at the earliest. So far, nothing.Heard nothing, or had a thanks but no thanks response?
