Has anyone else purchased an 8280 and had problems? We have four under a year old and had so many problems I couldn’t list them all on here. 2 having gearboxes 1 about to let go. Exhausts falling off, brakes failing, doors smashing, just to name a few. I’d be interested to hear how others are fairing.

Why have they not been replaced under warranty if they are that bad. What is the dealer saying. Are the photos of dealers workshop.?
I've had tractors replaced under warranty, one at 3 months and another at 3 yrs old, not Deutz though. Another make. Then had Deutz, very reliable.

Are you Hercule Poirot? 🤔
If you look at the photos they posted is says Banks Farmers, a quick look on banks farmers on Facebook shows up a contractor who has recently brought a group of Four Deutz. I just find it strange a new poster puts up two threads about how awful they are on the same day. Expect there is far more to the story than meets the eye? Possibly not.

I smell a big rat here, smashing doors usually down to operator.Brakes failing on new tractor usually down to poor trailer brakes, just saying….
Them "agrotron" cabs have been around for over 30 years, they've got their faults, but self destructing doors isn't one of them

The Vario gearbox in the 8280 Deutz is built by claas, and fitted to their tried, tested, and proven 800 axion

The multidisc brakes in the Deutz transaxle are one of the most robust designs of any brand on the market, and have a longevity the likes of CNH (for example) can only aspire to

Perhaps @Shitshifter could tell us a bit more of their troubles?

There is a small chance that a glass in a batch is crap, but multiple chances of that happening to one person. Probably an user error.

Looks like the Case IH is poorly too?
It doesn't look much like a dealers workshop to me, who's working on them?

Back in the day..door glasses 'popped" for no reason..but it was eventually found that the holes through the glass for the mounting brackets was too tight and the door seals too good, so any heat caused the glass to expand slightly then break the glass.

The door frame work was the wrong shape and tensioned the glass so they popped.

The gearbox is not the same as what is in the Axion, it is made by claas but claas don’t put their own CVT transmissions in anything above 205hp

The multidisc brakes are good you are right, but the problem is that the oil is cavitating in the gearbox and air then makes its way into the braking system. Causing brake failure.

I basically need 6 tractors to keep 4 running. The reliability of these tractors is shocking!!!
