Had my eye on two Simm steers, nice and quiet, thought might do a job about £800,but they were well in the £900s. There were two good pure Lim heifers from Bonshawside made £1420 and £1400.Dunkley bought them so probably went somewhere to bull. Ms Ivison had a really good trade with some Charly steers turned £1100 at a year old. And @Stw88 £930 for 3 heifers. So they are going up? Was watching some cattle sold on Monday at Darlington £850/£1050 not big or well fed pretty small stores look dear. It would cost me as much in feed to get them to £1250/£1300 looking like if they are anything like the job they need to be away.
2021 i got brain fog, when he asked what was last winters mid winter milk priceDo you mean 21 or 22
Have you given any luck to that lad who bought your bullock earlier in the year yet, he has been back in the mart for the last three weeks? He was moaning to me that he is getting pee'd off paying good money and not getting a pennyWeaners still dear today at Carlisle.Ring very busy. Seems to be getting a bigger difference between the best and the ordinary.Alot of rubbishy small for their age things in today, but still making £500-£600+
Yep well said...we work for little reward and it cannot go on...i am thinking of quitting some land i rent next spring...as with all the hassle there is little point anymoreEvery other industry earns lots money I was at the football the other day and couple lads I know got a van and paint and decorate in London only inside the m25 bare in mind they live in south London they take home a week £2400 a week between then start at 8am till 4pm and Friday they start 7am finish 3pm then to the pub no weekends there only cost is bit finance on the van insurance road tax and £60 diesel a week now unless im wrong but I’m pretty sure feeding the country is worth more to thr nation than painting some house ?! Time farming earns proper money for the effort and hours put in ! Whether ur breeding cattle milking cattle feeding cattle sheep etc it’s time and due people get a proper living with the costs and bills hitting everyone rant over
Your sim bullocks that you mention were £905-930 hardly well into the 900's. I spoke to the lady that sold them and she told me that she sold their mates at home and got more for themHad my eye on two Simm steers, nice and quiet, thought might do a job about £800,but they were well in the £900s.
