Been away for a while in the wilds of Dorset!

Back to the grindstone....
Local City numbers:
20,901 tests in the last 7 days
1,000 positive cases in the last 7 days.
100 positive patients admitted in the last 7 days.
164 positive inpatients.
4 deaths in the last 7 days within 28 days of a positive test.

Certainly not gone away by any stretch. In other news the community testing sites are being wound down and we are probably looking at "Test & Trace" as we currently know it being gone by May.

I think our lot have started counting Covid deaths as "within 28 days of a positive test" now. Seems to have pushed the numbers up a bit, almost all the deaths are 70+. We had one over 100 the other day. Every deaths sad of course but I wish they'd announce the countries total deaths of all causes, each day, to add a little balance.

Glad to hear it, be interesting to see how delaying covid for 2 years affects the impact. Hope the hospital capacity is increased if Hong Kong is anything to go by, although their vaccination of the elderly wasn't very successful.

I'm sure I saw at some point last year the average age of death in the UK was 82 and the average age of dying with covid was 84.

We release such stats on a monthly basis.
You can make them "say" whatever suits the argument!!

Do you think it's because are immune systems are getting better at fighting it.

Immunity, vaccination, and the newer variants seem to be far weaker.
Think we are on variants B.4 and B.5 at the moment.
Infection rates are creeping up but there isn`t a corresponding increase in very poorly folk.*

*although it is best avoided if you have co-morbidities.

What about unvaccinated people who were confident enough not to bother getting a jab?
You know any immunity from jab wanes after 8 weeks? ...better go and get a tenth jab or whatever number you're up to now
Anti vaxxers weren't confident , just awkward fukers , bet they were protesting about the Rwanda flights too
