Buyers seem to have gone on holiday.
The market won’t restabilise until they need to buy grain in volume again.

I suspect there are a few long holders caught with their pants down.
A medium independent trader was telling me yesterday that at a trade dinner last month cofco, cefetera men etc were crowing about how many 0000’s of tons of barley they had in store, worth £300+ and getting scarce. Dropped £55/tonne in the last week round here and suddenly they are offering this barley up along with all the farmers who ‘had none left’ a month ago, now it’s the buyers turn and they’re saying ‘we’re full thanks’

Why ,just been told cattle price is on the rise and cows and calves
in Hereford were off the clock today.Best outfits making £4-5k.
Cows and calves at 4-5k will never pay!

Cattle prices may be good now but that is mostly due to grass fever, lets see what trade is like come Oct/ Nov!

Prime cattle need to be £5 a kilo deadweight just to cover input inflation we have had the last 3/4 months!
