That’s what I’m after. Done a bit of research. Blundstone don’t sell zip boots in uk. Redback sell one called the cobar but it’s out of stock and not sure when it coming into uk price is £140. found a new pair bundstone 319 on eBay from Australia £75 includes deliver. Will take a punt at them🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
Just beware of the nice people at customs. My last lace-up redbacks came from ebay oz, customs held them, but sent the £30 demand to another name and house in our postcode. Took a while to figure out what was going on and to convince them to accept the cash from me.

Oliver ATs are my favourite all time boot, but I currently have a pair of Blundstones that I think are 319 ? As long as they are the right size for you, you won’t be disappointed 👍

considering the difference in our population size, I’m surprised there aren’t comparable UK boot companies ? We have a number of excellent work boot brands & work clothing for that matter, for our relatively small population. Maybe a higher % of our population work in mining / construction / engineering / tradies / agriculture ? So a relatively larger market ? Dunno ?
Just strikes me as odd how many “what boot” posts there are

this is from over 30 years ago & going in the reverse direction, but . . .

I was living & working in the UK for 3 years. My mother is Scottish, so while in Edinburgh I bought a kilt & jacket & all the gear ( as formal black tie wear - I still wear it now ) & mailed it home. Our nice customs people wanted to charge me an outrageous amount of duty ( similar to what I actually paid for it ). I wasn’t happy about that & rang them. I spoke to a very helpful customs officer who suggested if I paid the freight, they would send it back to me in the UK. He then made the suggestion to “scruff things up a bit”, repackage it & mail it back home again, but this time marked as “second hand clothing”. Dunno, but second time round it cleared customs no problems 👍

I was going to ask why people don’t just buy direct from Australia if they can’t source the styles they want locally, but I guess you answered that question

The UK boots i have tried all have a horrible, supposedly breathable, synthetic lining, this is nothing of the sort and only marginally better than wearing a plastic bag on your feet. Red Back, Rossi seem to be some of the few that are just leather, it didn't used to be like this, I assume if there is a synthetic lining the manufacturers can get away with thinner leather, I even had this argument with a senior officer from the army trials and development team who were on a visit soon after the new army boots came out.

that wouldn’t be very good for a 12 hour shift in the Pilbara in 50 C heat . . .

Any recommendations for pull on work boots.(non steel toe caps) steel toe boots comfortable Usually buy Buckles but find they are too slack round the ankle. are red backs or blund stone any better.
any suggestions on a comfortable steel toe boot/shoe? have some 12-hour days coming up and I have zero experience with what to look for in a steel toe.

thanks for any info

My current bucklers are just over 4 years old and like wearing slippers.the steel toe cap has started showing this week so they are on the way out but will probably do the summer anyway.all stitching is still good as are the soles that usually come apart and separate from top leather part of boot.i won’t look anywhere else when I replace them.i have arch supports in them too but don’t think it makes any difference

I bought some red backs. I wear them pretty much everyday for work. Think mix of office and light farm work. They are still on good shape for the leather but the soles now leak as have holes in them. I’ve probably walked about 600-700 miles in them. They are very comfortable for wearing at shows when you are on your feet all day generally stood in one place. I find they make my feet sweat. I’m not that impressed if I’m honest. I had ariat ones before that were much better. I’ll probably buy some Ariat ones again .

I’ve recently switched from Redbacks to Blue Steelers. They give much better ankle support but are still easy to take off because they have zips down the side. Lace up once at the front then use the zip after that. Seem good quality and better support. Might get a bit hot in the summer though!

I bought a pair of mongrel book in October, I've worn them almost the whole winter for 12-20 hours days doing 30k steps and done a lot of sheep work in them and they are as good as when I bought them, the last pair of redback I had lasted 3 months.

My rossi boots have parted company with the soles only 9 months old, I think I will splash out on some tiger seal to try and repair them
I found bucklers bad for that, despite the body and sole guarantee, they parted within six months
Bucklers were not interested so I won’t buy them again
I tend to use hoggs non safety lace ups as they are light and reasonably hard wearing
