Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

They know from experience that dairy men can’t help themselves. In 12 months there will be milk pouring out of everywhere and they will plummet the price to 26ppl again. Very easy to thump up production. I know there are herds selling up. But other herds are growing fast and there are plenty of younger outfits going in as well.
I second this... Got a couple of mates who are dairy & reading between the lines I think atm even with high ag inflation its a license to print money currently.... I guarantee u they'll fudge it up with greed & put sheds up, rent everything they can milk an extra 100 cows etc......
Supermarkets be like milk shortage.....? Problem solved........!!!!

The point is it doesn’t matter if you earn 2k a week it doesn’t mean it’s a good life! Us lot all draw f**k all out of the farms but we have a pretty decent life really
Hmmm 🤔 So we should be happy with a good life and little return on our investments ? I have a great life but i strive for more return on my investment all the time but what chance have we when some produce the goods happy with very little because they are happy 😃 ….. none .

Sheep men are no different.
If lambs were £160+ year round, everyone would be putting more on.
Cattle the same - as soon as there's a hint of a rise, stores jump.
But it takes longer to produce more of the actual product. Increasing feed produces more milk. Increasing feed to sheep and cattle finished them faster but once they are dead that’s it, they don’t keep on giving 30kg of meat a day.

It's slow progress but we are making progress !
First official steering committee meeting tomorrow .
Thankyou for joining ..... the bigger the membership the more clout we will have .
There is a team working to make contacts and inroads into various places including Westminster .
I'd sign up to this.... We need a proper union who'd tell the likes of Red tractor...... NO......

Red tractor - that doesn't meet the standards expected

Farmer - Wat u going to do about it....? Tell u wat go buy it from Russia then..

Red tractor - Ok maybe we'll review it

I don't think we realise how much power we could have instead of being dictated to by clip board Town folk & they're totally pointless rules & regs that were going to be burnt after brexit......

Well its about getting the balance right, you wouldnt need any fert and not much feed, couple hundred more ewes would tidy the place up and keep the grass better quality.
couple hundred more ewes on the land we have available for them and we wouldn't have any grass :ROFLMAO: let alone better quality
we did increase the breeding flock by 33% on Sunday just to show confidence in the future

Only problem is .as long as we're getting subsidy of some sort . they'll hit us with some non compliance bull💩💩. Take away the subsidy we'll have the power.

I got that fed up with it I started too play the game as much as everybody else did too try and see how ridiculous it could get…
Once pushed a £500,000 job back 6 months because a drawing had a dimension out by 10mm and I refused too make a start until the drawings were all amended 😂
I think quite a few on here are refusing to make a start with angus till my drawing is ammended too!

Just put loads of fertiliser on, then you'll have plenty grass. If not enough buy a creep feeder and buy feed to put in it.

Or you could buy a big tractor and mixer wagon and mix your own feed. You'll need to buy a big telescopic loader to fill it.

Maybe put up a big shed to store fertiliser and feed too.

Been thinking about the whole farming going forward situation lately.... I'll be honest we stand to loose ALOT of sub over the nxt few yrs but I'm starting to get used to this now & putting things into action to try balance it out - wat else can u do.......?? But the biggest travisty of this whole brexit job for farmers is the fact that we're going to be expected to uphold all these bloody rules on top of rules with a few more added on while our government are actively hunting round the world tryin to sign free trade deals with any sucker who take us so they can import cheap food produced to little standards..... Its absolutely shameful & I can't believe we're letting um get away with it.... That's why I will never be able to totally except brexit I'm afraid ..........
