Just finished the new mailbox/parcelbox. Has a piece of baler twine but also new hinges so thought I’d place it here.

Is that an old seed dressing barrel?
Saw one like it long time ago…small shaft screwed onto each end and a handle on one end…opening door bit smaller than that.
Maybe 25kg is seed tipped in then a dose of a pretty toxic Powder chucked in…revolve the barrel for a while…hey presto treated Seed Corn.

Think that's a coopered barrel probably held some pretty toxic nectar right enough:hungover::joyful:🥃

not engineering, infact a fair bit of head scratching /lateral thinking whatever required to sort a problem without resorting to cutting welding, spending money etc.....
tractor with narrower track and tyre width developed serious problem that gonna take some sorting out meant that the modest drum mower we have potentially hitting the wheel etc of bigger wider tractor, answer was to try hitching the mower on to the bag crane :woot:we have and with a slightly longer pto shaft fitted and offside stabiliser lengthened to push it sideways a bit and bobs yr beano worked a treat ,cuts right beside just off the wheel and even the break back can function without damaging when the occasion arises ruining the pto shaft .

quite chuffed tbh:cool:
just got to strip and rebuild a fire damaged tractor now as we're one short at this time of year

The Digger now has 2 keys to start and run 🤣

so the key switch buggered up and I ordered a replacement. It was a bit different to the origional but I set about fitting it anyway. I had to drill the hole bigger for it to fit ect. But then the vital key chip reading collar wouldn’t fit over the new key switch 🤦🏼‍♂️

now the key reader part sits at the back and needs the origional key with the chip just pushed into the switch. And the key switch that starts the machine is in the correct place! I call it extra security 😂 I could have glued the chip to the reader and hidden it inside the dash but I feel that would have left the digger a bit risky

Not wanting to wet your fireworks, but the brace is the wrong way on one of the doors....
Probably the door i put the hangings on the wrong way. I wanted the straight edges at the bottom and the rougher ones (where I had made the cut with my jigsaw which wasn't straight). As its ended up I've got one of each.

Plus I genuinely didnt know the brace had to be a certain direction 😆

On the sheeted gates that I have made in the past, I used to use threaded eye bolts as used on gates, or for doors like the OP has made, there are galvanized hinges available that have adjusters built in. I also consider it essential that the hinges and hinge pin brackets are bolted right through the doors and door frames with locknuts on the inside.
