Is this the last straw for pigs?

Another thing I dont really get is how Poland manages those prices as they have trouble with African Swine Flu, Belgium does so too but their Prices have been extremely low for almost 5 years now dunno how there are any pig farmers left.

Much of the agriculture of central and Eastern Europe relies on virtually endless space and acres of buildings, many of them left from 'soviet' times. They have also developed heavily on the back of what I presume was EU grant monies.

Poland was never collectivized, the Buildings have been built recently.
doesnt answer how they manage to sell it for a relatively good price even with the African swine flu and the export bans.

The buildings I have seen across that part of Europe often look similar in design and age, very different to anything I had ever seen in Western Europe. I didn't know if Poland was ever operated in a state run way or not, just that much of the infrastructure was similar.

Preemptive Antibiotics, full concrete floors allowed, the cheapest barns, cheap grain from South America
North African slave labour
They are making the profit of their lifes right now.

Has there not been few slaughtering issues this week, fire in one plant shutting it, and water problems in another, meaning tankering water in.
Yes. I supply the one that had the water problem, Yorkshire Water cut off their supply at nil notice as the reservoir was running low. I was prepared for not being able to send my regular load today. Thankfully we were able to send the pigs as the water supply got reinstated apparently after the local MP got involved.
So Karro continue their unblemished record as far as i'm concerned.

They've acquired a lot more sows one way and another over the last year or two, "acquisition" of existing herds and need all the finishing space that they can get their grubby mitts on.
Who's running them now? John C left approx 8 months ago. And I hear his brother is seriously considering his position as well.

I think that the bloke who sold his indoor units to them to form White Rose Farms is moving up the greasy pole. Obviously must be a slimy shyster. John C has cropped up back with his old boss in Staffordshire who bought a lot of sows back from xxxxxxxxx.

well he's there now. They bought a large herd that was on their own land. John is also helping with other activities such as the estate that they bought when they sold the pigs to cranny. I'm pleased that someone seems to be doing well out of those arseholes and might have got one over them.
