    Drone Agrocam NDVI

We are using a Mavic Pro 2 and have added an Agrocam, for processing the images above are done on DroneDeploy. The first set of images aerial map and plant health are done by the drone camera and its internal gps. So the crop health is based on red green blue (RGB) algorithm analysis on drone...

    Companion cropping OSR

We did use kerb flo around the headlands and a few in field spots to take out sow thistle. This did kill the vetch and clover.

    Drone Agrocam NDVI

We have done a test flight captured all the images we need, but haven’t quite worked out how to process the NDVI. We have managed with the camera drone and processed them on drone deploy giving the results below. The bottom one is RGB

    Drone Agrocam NDVI

Has anyone got any experience of using an Agrocam on a drone to look at NDVI? Looks like a GoPro knockoff and imagine they take the filters out so converting it into NDVI camera.

The vetch and clover has survived the kerb earlier in the year. Not sure what it will look like when we get to harvest. First photo is from earlier in the year second was taken today

    Companion cropping OSR

Trying to decide if to kill off the companion crop or try and keep it as an understory in the rape, currently there is vetch and burseem clover left as the buckwheat died off in the cold. Has anybody any thoughts on this i.e. is it going to cause a problem at a later date such as harvest etc...

    Companion cropping OSR

On the whole they are keeping off it, but we have got kites and bangers going. Walking through it all the other day you could only see the odd plant that had signs of pigeon damage. There are are a few areas thought where the rabbits have grazed it right back.

The vetch just took a little longer to come I think. The photos below are from last week, the buckwheat died off when the temp dropped. The vetch and clover are still going great guns, not sure why the vetch took so long to appear

I wonder if the bare or worked soil is a contributing factor in attracting CSFB

    Companion cropping OSR

All straw was removed this year, the 2 fields in above photos were following oats. I was wondering if the CSFB was attracted to the bare soil where we had a fire, also this piece had been cultivated with a hankmo star harrow. Also for some reason the vetch does not seem to have germinated or...

    Companion cropping OSR

Observations this week are that the clover has come reasonably well but the vetch population doesn’t seem to be there? It was all drilled at about 2 inches in to moisture and has had about 1.5 inches of rain since planting. Also where we had a fire in the stubble over a large part of the field...

    Companion cropping OSR

So the rape and companion crop has been in just over a week and it doesn’t look to bad. We basically just mixed it all together and chucked it in the hopper on the sim tech. We went for a mix of buckwheat, vetch and burseem clover. The seed mix was 1kg burseem 3.5kg buckwheat 3.5kg vetch...

how to deal with slugs in longterm best way?!

Hi how many plants have you got left per m2, in good parts of the field and bad parts of the field? or is total wipe out? Only ask as we had a couple of fields with very low plant populations last year due to poor establishment, but it still made a reasonable crop.
