Thanks, The sheep will absolutely love the idea... a way to die and a full belly. Win win for them! that was my worry as they’d be behind electric with ivy as their only option really as don’t think he’d be keen on them having the run of the place. I think I will cut the bulk so the lot can...
I keep a few sheep in a field behind the landowners house. He was impressed that the sheep had cleaned the ivy off all of the trees and has asked if I can stick a few behind electric in his garden to clear it off his wall as there’s a lot of it.
There was about 100 ewes in the field and only a...
Got a few ewes and a tup that are loosing their wool. Had scab confirmed on the farm and had everything dipped 3 weeks ago and no longer any signs of scratching. Any ideas what could be causing this wool loss?
Cheers
Yes unfortunately this doesn’t suit the circumstances. No dipping set up here and only 30 or so that are still separate from the main flock after being bought in.
Fingers crossed, went off vets recommendation as it’s my first time dealing with it. How long after treatment until I should know if it’s done the job?
I am going to be treating some in lamb ewes for scab with ivermectin. Do they need moving onto clean pasture after the first or the second injection 1 week later?
Thanks

I would say healed Flystrike as well. I’ve had one very similar to this recently but across its shoulders, there was a small trail of dark wool leading a different patch with maggots further down
Retrieved a cold and abandoned newborn ewe lamb from the field this morning. It’s been on the bottle and drinking OK although it seemed constipated, after a closer inspection it appears to have no anus. I have heard about this before although I have no experience with it. Anything I can do or is...
Not sure for certain,
All of the others seem fine. They were on some free grazing and there was a horse in part of the field separated by an electric fence which the lambs sometimes went under so guessing it may have been kicked or killed by the horse as I have heard of it happening before. I...
Hi,
2 weeks ago I bought a small batch of lambs and one has died. Its got bloody nose and a bloody fluid sac/blister on its belly and couple of areas where looks like it may have had others which have burst. They have not mixed with my main flock yet but I was going to move some so would like...
