Bourgault VOS Horsch Co / Sprinter Conversions

Update on my modified solo body with added flat. Basically did not work in fairly moist conditions. The seed still dropped to the bottom of the slot. The hope was that the slot would close up before the seed was released, but this did not happen. Maybe it would work in drier conditions, or the...

    Horsch duet coulters

I think what you are going to end up with is just a Horsch solo coulter. I tried one solo coulter on the drill this autumn but abandoned it as the seed just dropped right to the bottom of the slot, ( even though I added a trailing flat to act as a ledge) way too deep compared to the duets, and...

Bourgault VOS Horsch Co / Sprinter Conversions

Modified Solo body ( cut and shut 40mm higher) to bring seed outlet in line with Duet plus a redesigned Solo body, both with seed depth limiting tang added to give more time for slot to close below seed. Intended mainly for cereals, for beans probably just drill deeper. Due for testing in field...

    Horsch sprinter keeps blocking

We replaced the hydraulic switch with a simple mechanical one. But good idea about float.

Bourgault VOS Horsch Co / Sprinter Conversions

There are two ways to look at the problem with BG/ ryegrsass. Less gaps between the rows gives more competion, but inevitably means more soil is disturbed possibly encouraging BG germination in an otherwise stale seedbed. Its an open question which is better IMO. I am direct drilling into stale...

Bourgault VOS Horsch Co / Sprinter Conversions

Thinking to add a seed placement flap under the seed orifice on a Solo body, similar to the seed closure flap above the seed orifice. I guess this last is to stop seed jumping out of the slot. The lower one hopefully should keep the seed in a defined depth. I do like the Horsh points as they...

Bourgault VOS Horsch Co / Sprinter Conversions

250mm on 8 meter. Anyone tried Horsch Solo bean coulters on cereals? They look a sensible design if the seed depth is consistent, or does it drop to the bottom of the slot?. I think the Metcalfe are too narrow, should be 15 or 16mm IMO.

    Horsch bean/solo coulters

Yes would be interested in some solo bodies to try, Do they work OK with wheat as well as beans? Am currently testing Metcalf , Dutch and Duets

    horsch Solo or metcalfe coulters

@Clive Are they long or standard points if you still have them? Did you go for the Bourgholts?

I would try the duets and see how you get on. I tried all the different coulters ( plus some home made variants!) on an 8 meter CO this year, and could not see any visible difference in establishment all season between any of them. Only benefit might be less horsepower required and less soil...

Anyone yield mapping with a New Holland?? help required

Ah found it, I was looking at the wrong data layer possibly moisture or something. The yield map looks sensible, apart from the very low yield due to June heat and drought!

Anyone yield mapping with a New Holland?? help required

Just tried out Yield mapping on Case IH AFS 600 pro. This is what I got! bears no relation to the field yields indicated on the combine. BTW its a field of wheat edge to edge all treated as one block. the different colours seem to relate mainly to the different days it was combined. Is there a...

    Cheap yield meter

F9P reciever latest firmware is now Engnos capable. However on my testing its not a huge improvement on 3d without Egnos, due to the excellent performance of the dual frequency multi GNSS receiver. Its quite hard to pick out the Egnos vs non but from 4000 secs to 5000 secs is with Egnos. All...
