    Welger RP 220 Master advice

If it’s set up well the net system on that should work with any net. There is a very good video on YouTube that covers the basics, maybe get a new knife for it cos it is an old baler and the knife is probably rusty, not expensive.Mine used to work perfect with Rondotex,I’m not a fan of...

The thing with disc mowers,a lot of makes have at least 2 different ranges.I know Kuhn do,a centre pivot range and a lower spec end pivot generally powered by belts with a shoe beside the first disc where the gearbox is.This can be the cause of a lot of blocking cos the shoe doesn’t like running...

    Claas Rollant 540rc

It’s about time Claas had a decent baler, compared to the others they haven’t made much progress since the 46.There are some excellent balers out there now, even JD have learnt from their mistakes.

    Fuel price tracker

I agree, and the problem now is,cos it has gone up so much there can be maybe 10-12p/l between quotes rather than perhaps 2p.Makes £200 difference on 2000 litres, where i can forgive a penny or two to help a good independant supplier,i cant give away £200.

    Claas Rollant 540rc

I’ve just bought a 3135,only done 1 field but impressed so far.Bale density is better than the previous Welger, due to the integral auger and feed rotor I think.

    Combinables Price Tracker

Yes something will have to give this autumn, cattle store sales will be dire if beef doesn’t get to near £6/kilo or cereals drop to below £200.

    Welger RP 220 Master

There is a trick you can try to get the knives up,press and hold the button for the knives, this will give full hydraulic pressure.Obviously don’t use it like this as you could damage something.

    Compressor Advice

I was told it’s less than100litre that don’t need testing.NFU assessor came here one day and pretty much condemned all my ladders saying they needed to be trade ones rather than DIY ones. But the compressor was ok even tho it was old cos it’s 50litre.

    Round baling silage cost

Unreliable bale wrap can ruin a business,I only ever use a few rolls of a wrap I’ve not used before on my own bales first. There will be absolutely no comeback for ruined silage, they may come and have a look but they will blame everything but the plastic, type of grass, too wet,too dry, miss shaped...

Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Not necessarily so,the finished price is not going to rise for 6 weeks or so.Too many short killing weeks and a 3 day week to come, may even drop a penny or two.Finishing cattle cannot really add up at the moment, talk of cereals going even higher,so £5/kilo aint going to work either. It will all...
