1st day trip to Broughton yesterday!! The place was packed with folk and cattle, certain members of another auctioneering company won't be overly impressed with that!!
Cattle were a straight trade throughout, anything with shape good trade.
I don't know what was up on Thursday, I saw mine sold then came away, I heard the atmosphere didn't improve any!
Must of continued into cattle as well as they were very steady from what I heard.
My liveweight cattle have been a touch dearer the last 2 weeks, I had someone in Carlisle yesterday watching them, he bought me 2!! he ended up putting them with some others he bought. He reckoned they were very dear.
There was some very well bred hoggs there, some of the horned/hill bred hoggs were full of meat and were a real trade on the night.
No bubble popping last night.
Bulls looked a good trade to me, clean were dearer than last week, there was a lot of lean cattle in at small weight 480-530kg won't add up to a lot and given store price will take some replacing.
My load ave 671kg £3.20 £2147 heifers and steers.
My hoggs today ave 50kg £205, be similar to last week, some plainer lambs would look a bit less and some of the very best were struggling to get past £240!!
