Water pump for a grazing platform

We are in the process of installing a new water system for our grazing platform. We currently milk 250, I have installed 600m of 50mm mdpe with 2 1000m 32mm rings coming off this. Does anyone have any recommendations for pump size/spec/suppliers? I have had one quote from a local company for a...

    Ark Eva cubicle mats?

I have, they're OK but not as good. The mayo mats definitely hold their shape better. Don't see any yield difference between the two though. One other thing, they're not identical, they use large dimples on the underside to get the thickness, so a 32mm ark mat is actually pretty similar to a...

    Insurance costs

Yes, a few weeks ago. We have gone from 4.5 to 7k in 2 years, we've had a couple of claims though plus more stock and sheds. We priced the nfu up this time and they were miles out, when we moved from them 7 years ago they were suddenly able to drop their prices to match the broker!

Who do you insure with? We have a similar cover to you through a broker and would be less than half of your amount

    All things Dairy

I went for 20 but only picked up 11. Top was £2000, not sure of the average. They seemed dear, I think Tom will have been pleased.

    Accountants

I can't, I married my accountant and it'd be super awkward. She's very good at her job though.

    All things Dairy

Doesn't look like it'll do 2 minutes let alone 2 years. Someone has had their moneys worth out of that already. I picked a 150 up for £1200 3 years ago, has been a good machine

    Bull tank.

Have a look on facebook marketplace or ebay. I use an old 1000 litre ice bank tank for calf rearing. It is on weigh cells so we know how much transition milk has gone into it and then can top up with warm water and powder to the required levels. The agitator is wired up to a switch which mixes...

    New tractor

Not quite, though I get your point. £9,500 adjusted for inflation would be around £31,750 today, so depreciation of £1.80/clock hour

    Milk Price Tracker

Is tb a factor in this local decline? I've just had a look on ibtb and there would be more herds under restriction than clear in the locality.

    Trioliet Tub Mixer weighing wrong

With mine it's always been the weigh cell, I've had to do all 3. There's a connection box underneath that you can use to isolate the problem. They can be a bugger to get out, our engineers had to cut out and re-weld 2 of them

You've a weigh cell gone, it'll need changing

    DIY cow kennels?

Yes, it's open to allow for lunging space and better ventilation. There were 60 kennels here originally that were clad down to the floor, leading to problems with stuck cows and uprights being snapped off. Opening the front up solved all that so I copied the design and built more, the beds have...

    DIY cow kennels?

I have built around 200 cow kennels since 2012, they're 100% timber though. Are you wanting to just bolt a something to your cubicles to make a roof?
